Discover Restaurants offering the best Chinese food in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom. Once a shipbuilding city, Newcastle's flashier claim to fame is nightlife. Throw in a heap of premium restaurants serving foods from all over the world and it's no wonder young partiers choose to blow their hard-earned (or not-so-hard-earned) cash in Newcastle. While these amenities are certainly a draw for the hipsters and culture-seekers, it's the locals that make Newcastle a truly special place to visit. "Geordies," as they are often called, embody the pride, industriousness and resilient spirit of their city.

Previously The Orchid Quayside now rebranded as LIU Dining with new exciting menu catering to all taste!
We went here on a very busy night in Newcastle after the championship rugby final. It was extremely popular and rightly so as the food was excellent and the staff were all friendly. We had the banquet and it was probably the best we have had. Drinks are very reasonably priced. At the end of the meal the manager sorted taxis for us which was much appreciated.

I wasn't expecting much here, and its easy to miss amongst the other same-y looking restaurants that now proliferate amongst former shopping hotspots, but so glad we found this. Its not cheap, but not expensive either. The portions are more generous than the menu and pictures suggest, and they have a cool loyalty card that adds up quickly. Everything looks clean and you can see where they prepare the food. We are converts to this Asian fusion stuff, and probably won't be going back to our traditional "Chinese" type restaurant anytime soon.Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a great review. We're so happy you found us and are now converted to 'Pan Asian' cuisine. We will pass your feedback onto our team who will be more than pleased with your lovely comments. We most certainly look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We visited one lunch time having heard great things. First off, place is cash only but Tesco cash point next door which is convienent. BYOB also. Decor is no frills and basic but we are here for the food and they served it fast and piping hot. We shared the smoked chicken which was flavoursome, sweet and spicy. We also had the beef rendang curry and the Hua Tan kueh Teow (flat noodles stir fried with egg sauce and seafood and veg) portions were huge and had leftovers. Both the dishes arrived within minutes of ordering and so hot. Washed down with Malaysian coffee and an ice lemon tea. Bill came to just over £25.There is a huge selection on menu with lots to choose from. Definitely be back again.

My son and I called in here before going to the football. It was an unplanned visit but my foodie 11 yr old son spotted it on Trip Advisor and said that we must go! Iâm pleased we did as we found the food and staff very good. We will return and take the wife. One thing to point out is the misleading menu which has great pics of the meals with a caption of what it is with rice and the price. When we got the bill we found the rice was extra. I guess it would be written earlier in the menu but I missed it. That aside, if you want quality Stowel St food then you must go.

A nice but not faultless meal awaits you here. Good food but not brilliant was our opinion. Usual soup, then crispy duck was not the best we have ever had but ok. The duck was a little disappointing in the fact there was just enough for 2 wraps each, not quite enough on the serving plate. It was also not crispy as it is promoted as.The 4 main courses arrived, 2 delicious, 2 average. Only small bottles of Chinese beer available or CANS available in bitter or lager. Odd........not a great customer choice.Service friendly and a good bit of banter but it is down to the food and drink which are slightly below par.
