Find out what Street Food restaurants to try in York. Just two hours north of London by rail, the city of York holds 1900 years' worth of history in its ancient walls. The Romans built the city in 71 AD, and the Vikings captured it in 866 AD. Stop by the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens for a look at what the Roman and Vikings left behind (they must have packed light when they left). From there, move on to the York Castle Museum for a not-so-quick overview of the most recent 400 years.

Cocktails, craft beer, street food! These are a few of our favourite things. Pop along to The Nook and have a chat with our staff, have a nosey at our interesting decor, and generally have a pretty smashing time in one of York's smallest bars. We love our
Came across this amazing place by chance. Attracted by the street food sign outside. Warm, welcoming with interesting quirky decor. Food did not disappoint either. Freshly prepared, well presented and delicious all at sensible prices. Henry, who served us, took time to answer my many questions about the building and decor. Will seek this out again for sure.

Pizza by the slice bar, offering meat, vegetarian and vegan options. Street food style pizza, serving pizza by the Block. Ever changing menu with different toppings with great selection of drinks to accompany. Big Love X
Does not set itself up as anything fancy but excellent Pizza (meat, veggy and vegan - no gluten free options unfortunately). Ice cold Brooklyn lager or soft drinks and really nice relaxed vibe.Worth a visit as Goodramgate is away from the tourist crowds, also great Clash photo wall to look at, definitely worth it for Clash fans

Home to some of Yorkâs fest slow-cooked meats, superfoods and vegetarian delights, Source offers a dining experience unlike any other in the city. This restaurant isnât just for the health-conscious, itâs also for any person who happens to love seriously
So much choice for veggies and vegans, I couldnât decide. Finally settled on the onion starter and vegan Camembert, followed by the beyond burger and vegan fried chicken. The Camembert was the tastiest, most realistic vegan cheese Iâve ever tried- I couldnât tell it wasnât real cheese! Also, I have wanted to try a Beyond burger for a long time, but havenât seen one in the UK, so I was excited to try it. This vegan meat alternative is perfect for anyone who once ate meat and is now veggie or vegan, as it tastes just like the real thing! Both of us really enjoyed our food. Service was quick and the staff were really friendly.I canât wait to visit again next time Iâm in York.

From the Streets of India, NUKKAD brings exciting new flavours to The Shambles Market, York. Every street corner in India has a NUKKAD. Itâs a place where locals hangout, gossip and socialize over authentic home-cooked food. We have created our own NUKKAD
Great Indian street food to be food at the Shambles market. Dishes you will possibly not have heard of. Hot and cold options available. Chicken dosa with coconut chutney was a delight. Shared tables or take away. Efficent and friendly staff.
