Reviews on Pizza food in Lyme Regis, England, United Kingdom. Lyme Regis /ˌlaɪmˈriːdʒɪs/ is a town in West Dorset, England, 25 miles (40 km) west of Dorchester and 25 miles (40 km) east of Exeter. It lies at Lyme Bay on the English Channel coast at the Dorset–Devon border. It is nicknamed "The Pearl of Dorset". It is noted for fossils found in cliffs and beaches that are part of the Heritage Coast—known commercially as the Jurassic Coast—a World Heritage Site. The harbour wall known as "The Cobb" appears in Jane Austen's novel Persuasion, in the John Fowles novel The French Lieutenant's Woman, and in the 1981 film of the same name, which was partly shot in Lyme Regis. Its one-time mayor and MP was Admiral Sir George Somers, who founded the English colonial settlement of the Somers Isles, now known as Bermuda. Lyme Regis is twinned with St George's, Bermuda. In July 2015 Lyme Regis also became "tripled" with Jamestown, Virginia, as the Historic Atlantic Triangle of Lyme, St George's and Jamestown. The 2011 Census gave the parish and electoral ward a population of 3,671.

We dined here by chance at the end of a day out. We were not disappointed. We sat outside on a tiny table as it was fully booked inside but enjoyed our rustic experience nevertheless. The staff are friendly, informative and very professional. The pizzas were very tasty, with so many different flavours coming through. This was the best pizza we have eaten in ages. If we lived closer we would most definitely be back.

Could have been a lovely summer’s evening visiting a typical Italian restaurant.....this was not the case here.....food overpriced and inexperienced staff although they did try their best. We ordered a kir cocktail....too strong as far too much Kir....asked to do again. Main meal of pollo Milanese.....chicken well cooked but pasta and tomato sauce very bland with no flavour and a few lettuce leaves....which you would hardly call salad accompaniment to a main meal cost just under £16. They are plenty of other well priced good restaurants in Lyme Regis serving local produce.....this restaurant did not mention any local suppliers. Would definitely not visit again, as thought it was poor value for money, which is a shame as the last time we had a much better meal. As regards the staff, we were served by a very inexperienced waitress who tried her best, but believe management were not helpful in assisting her, leaving her to pour cocktails, when she had no idea. If this restaurant wants to stay open, they need to up their game, as you just can’t rely on just the summer tourist trade to survive.

Pizza Steak House

Had a Napolitana pizza which is with olives and anchovies. At Poco pizza and Italia restaurants in Lyme Regis the pizzas are rustic and hand thrown but these bready pizza bases are very uniform and look and taste ‘bought in’.The anchovies are the same brown type used commonly on pizzas whereas Poco uses the less salted white marinated anchovies which have a more delicate flavour. This was the second dearest pizza out of the three at £10.20 (£8.50 at Italia and £12 at Poco) and was judged by me to be the least value for money.Steakhouse pizza was average quality but Poco and Italia were clearly more authentic in appearance and taste. May be worth getting a chef in who can make pizza bases from scratch???
