We had dinner here recently and really enjoyed the food although the service of the main courses was slow. We were eating early (around 6pm) and the place was packed with a large number of small children and families. This made for a very noisy meal although the food was very good. Servers were friendly and everything except the main courses and bill arrived quickly. Next time we'll choose a different time to eat.

A modern Italian restaurant set in a 200 yr old building connected to an Italian cafe bar open from 8 till late. The Italian is in one of the older street of Kendal just down from the market place.
While visiting the lakes, we met up with my friend who lives in kendal and recommended this place. We made the journey from windermere to join her. Made welcome as soon as we walked in; seated at a lovely window table on a cold monday night (we didnt request a window seat so this was much appreciated). Small but very good selection of cocktails, although we didnt have wine the selection again was great. My other friend, cannot have dairy, working in the restaurant industry we vaguely knew which dishes would cause the least hassle to make dairy free, although the waitress was excellent in making us feel comfortable that nothing was a issue. This was great. Our starters were amazing - especially my garlic mushrooms (although they were hard to eat without a spoon). The mains were great, we were asked if our food was good, offered more drinks when our glasses were empty. There could have been more veggie options for the main course (that weren't seafood). Atmosphere was really warm and cosy if a bit dark; music wasnt too loud either. All in all a firm favourite now.

There's a great choice of eating and drinking at the Brewery - something for every taste. The Brewery has somewhere to eat all day, every day of the week. In the Day: The Intro Bar: a relaxed cafe, serving a range of drinks including coffee and specialty

The family were looking for take away / restaurant options so for the first time explored Pizzeria Italia. Very friendly customer service and we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely veggie pizzas made with generous toppings for large and extra large sizes. When we revisit Cumbria, we will keep this take away as an option. Recommended.
