We waited for a nice sunny day to go to Bantham, spend the day on the beach then have pizza from Gastropizza and it was worth the wait. Freshly cooked, lovely tasty thin crust with fresh toppings straight out of the pizza oven, washed down with a lager - bliss!

Fabulous thin pizzas served quickly. Staff very good and service quick, so tables turnover quickly hence the rapidly moving queue outside. Marked down to 4 stars though as would like to be able to book and also the kids mocktails were ridiculously sweet and sugary. Would visit again though as pizza delicious.

Cosy pub, comfy sofas with lovely log fire in the winter. They are very dog friendly with a big biscuit jar on the bar and water offered. Dogs are also allowed in the restaurant as well as the bar. Perfect stopping point after a bracing beach walk! We were chatting with some locals and were told there had been issues with staff previously but they have since left and and new staff taken on.. it seems to be working as we had no issues whatsoever. They also have a new chef, the specials he created were awesome. My husband isnât keen on sea food but when he tasted my sea bass he wanted to swap! So nice to find a welcoming pub, both for us and the dogs, especially one so close to beautiful beaches. Well worth a drive out!
