One can always be assured of a good meal here. Recognised mainly locals when I ate here midweek. Good portion sizes and a varied menu with interesting specials.Pleasant ambience and great service. I had the scallops with chorizo starter which was excellent with 4 jumbo tasty scallops lightly cooked to perfection well complimented by the chorizo.I had the pork fillet wrapped in pancetta main with roasted butternut squash and asparagus with apple.Not surprisingly it was quite salty. The squash was cut into rather small dice . The Apple wedges had a lovely caramelised coating.The pink gin and Prosecco cocktail looked quite boring - a couple of berries would have made all the difference to the presentation & I would have been happier without the 2 plastic straws.A satisfying meal and Iâm sure to visit again soon.

If you like authentic 'family' Italian food prepared and cooked to a high standard in a small atmospheric restaurant then you will love Fermento. The 'taster menu' is superb and we asked Carla to choose a different wine for each course for us. I think she was pleased to be asked and chose superbly well. Alternative takeaway in Cockermouth is one to be tried. The food is always piping hot. The pizza bases are cooked to perfection and are always extra cheesey. There is an excellent selection of meals to try. Would highly recommend. The team are extremely polite and the food is cooked in no time at all.
