After several visits here and finding the food and service excellent it was disappointing to find that on a special evening for myself when I had invited friends that the Fox let us down. Firstly two meals arrived then one was promptly taken away then the one left was awaiting chips but never arrived till SOME of the other meals arrived 1 hour and 20mins after order taken. During this time my friend was asked how she liked her gammon cooked!!! then even later the other meals arrived. It was excellent food I cannot fault that but maybe sometime before my next visit.

Made our way here on two buses on a Saturday night, welcome by staff, great choice of beers, tried a few, friendly crowd, nice decore. This is easy to get to situated on the Pedmore road coming from The Lye cross,5 minutes walk,on the corner of Cemetary road.Been before, early nineteen seventies when it had a theme room called Captains Cabin,LONG gone and now an open ,extended walk around bar, with seating all around.

We visited a week ago mid week and the service and food great. We visited again today, Saturday, what a difference!! We arrived 5 minutes early, went to where you are seen to your table and waited and waited!! Finally before we grew roots we were shown to our table. Then the wait started. We were asked if we wanted drinks. Then came back to say they did not have the item of drink, we gave an alternative, again came back no drinks!! we gave a third option hurray, success, Wait number three, ages went by then came the drinks. They took our meal option which came some time after. After the plates were cleared another 20 minutes elapsed with no order being taken for sweet or coffee. We decided then at 4pm, enough was enough, arose, asked for the bill and left. Surprisingly say's one of the best things about eating out is that sooner or later you get to pudding" Believe me it is LATER if you sit on table F1... Probably wise to skip this!!

A friendly, family run 18th Century Country Pub serving quality traditional ales and home cooked quality food. Family friendly with patio, beer garden and children's play area set in the historical village of Blakedown, Kiddermister.
Prawns in the curry were not king prawns..The risotto was bland and lumpy. The steak was not tender, it was quite tough for a couple of our party. The staff were friendly enough, however, one of the waitresses when a member of our party said i ordered a side she said, no you didnt..even though we all heard her order the side the waitress repeated no you didnt...then said i can get you some, she tried to call her out..this is not good service. Plus side it was nice and quiet not rowdy. I dont think i would go here again.
