The Duncombe Arms Pub is a delightful setting in which to enjoy a drink, some lovely food and a chat. Youâll have the ambience of a roaring log fire and enjoy choosing from a great range of beers, a varied and interesting selection of wines and all your f
Saturday lunch with friends, and someone had recommended the Duncombe Arms. What a find. A lovely building, beautifully decorated. The staff were welcoming and efficient. The food was lovely. We mixed between brunch menu and lunch menu, resulting in odd combinations, but that didnât matter. Delicious. Highly recommended.

The Dog and Partridge, Traditional Pub and Dining, in the delightful village of Marchington, Staffordshire. Fantastic food, drink and a superb relaxed atmosphere. The pub has a rich and colourful history dating back to the Georgian era, bursting with char
Four of us visited for en evening meal in late August 19. Good selection of well kept real ales and a good choice of wines. The beer was served with a thick creamy head; just how I like it. It was "Steak Night" and two of our party opted for steaks, which were described as excellent. The signature dish of Steak & Stilton Pie was on top form, full of tender, succulent meat. Excellent service from Margaret.

We popped in on our way home from a busy weekend, to save cooking/washing up.Friendly service as usual and Joe was really attentive and helpful, straight away sorting high chair, colouring and kids menu for our two year old.Food was delivered really quickly and was delicious. Lots of new additions to the menu recently too, so plenty of choice. We shall be back soon. Thanks Frankie & Bennyâs
We visited here with best friends to celebrate Golfers Retreat 4th birthday. They are based inside the clubhouse and serve lunches, dinners and light bites. We had a set menu on this occasion which was a Sunday lunch consisting of a choice of roast pork, steak pie or lamb shank. We also had a choice of dessert....rhubarb crumble and custard, choc brownie and peppermint custard, fruit salad and cream or Bakewell tart and custard.Everything was ALL homemade and piping hot and tasted absolutely delicious. As I say we have visited here many times for dinner and also sampled their famous buffets at private parties and everything is fantastic plus the presentation of the food is always second to none. You cannot fault it. I would recommend golfers retreat to anyone looking for lunch or a dinner pitstop. You won't be disappointed! May I also add that the views of the golf course are beautiful as you are sat by windows overlooking certain areas of the course.
