First time I have been to have a Sunday lunch, we were recommended by the staff (Phillipa)on a previous visit. The food was absolutely amazing. We went for the Sunday lunch for 5 people, the meat came out on a tray with Yorkshire’s and crackling and the amount of meat was unreal. We got pork, beef, gammon and turkey (we upgraded for £3 each to rump beef) the peas (mushy) were the best I have ever tasted (we ordered not peas and more roasties because they were amazing) we got carrots, battered cauliflower, Savoy cabbage. We have come home with 7 cartons of left over food because you really do get so much. 3 out of 5 of us had room (after a break) for deserts and again they were so tasty and nice big portions. Big, HUGE shout out to Owen! Who served us he was amazing, nothing ordered wrong, made sure we were happy and such a friendly lad. This is a must place to visit. Dear Nicolab284, Thank you for taking the time in writing a review for Carter & Fitch.Firstly, your amazing photos have made me very hungry! As a restaurant we’ve put a lot of effort into our Sunday Lunches, with adding new dishes and a different look to the presentation. This review makes us all very happy, we are so glad you enjoyed it. I will pass your special mentions onto our team, we do hope to see you again! Many thanks,Amber

I have visited several F&B’s, but never felt strongly enough to review them before, however I am sitting here for a fairly regular Saturday morning breakfast & feel it is time to acknowledge the consistent, excellent service & quality of food we repeatedly receive. From the manager Paul who mucks in & always greets us with a cheery smile to Stacey with her witty banter, or any of the staff who always make sure service is never compromised. I would say as a regular F&B’s can afford to invest in more diverse music, without loosing the essence of their retro style.

I ate here most recently on a Tuesday evening with my partner before the quiz. Luckily, the food is half price on Tuesdays. I ordered the fish burger and asked for sweet potatoes fries with it instead of the regular chips, which I didn’t get. The “giant battered cod finger” with tartar sauce and a bun sounded lovely, unfortunately I got two large bog standard fish fingers on a dry bun. When I asked for some sauce to go with my otherwise totally dry meal, it took ten minutes and asking two people to arrive.I’d love to say that this kind of experience was a one off but it’s not. I’ve ordered a chicken burger before only to have a bit of plain chicken breast and a bun arrive. I’ve also ordered sticky toffee pudding which I was asked to eat with a fork as they “had no spoons”. I obviously wasn’t happy with this and had to suggest they go upstairs to Fiume to get one which the waitress did. Not only did she expect me to eat custard with a fork but the pudding was burnt. It’s pretty basic stuff they’re offering, I’m not sure how it keeps going wrong. I also always drink black current and water but seem to get charged a different price each time I order. My experiences upstairs in Fiume have been similar which is a shame as it used to be good. I’ll still go for the quiz but I wouldn’t get food unless absolutely necessary.Dear VH93Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your visit. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will use your comments to refine our efforts to ensure this issue does not happen again.Kind Regards Joey Mitchell.General manager

I have been to this F&B regularly for breakfast and the food and service have always been good. This is the third time I have been with my family for lunch/ dinner and again it’s been awful. The starter took 20min ( which I’m cool with) but the mains took almost an hour. The kids were starving and bored, as was I. I was told the order would be 30 seconds (by the manager) to then wait another 5 min for the WRONG food to come out for my niece( who ate it rather than wait). The salad with my chicken skewers, was wilted and practically inedible. My sons corn on the cob was nothing short of disgusting. As we finished our meal the chef began signing jovially, which to be honest, was a kick in the teeth as we had waited over an hour and a half for mains. As I was leaving I spotted a grater with a chunk of Parmesan balancing on a napkin at a waiting station. Got a reduction on the bill due to the delay but I wouldn’t recommend it and you won’t be seeing me or my family there again!
