We visited the tapas bar on Thursday evening, it was very busy in the front part but deserted in the back room where we were seated so lacked a little atmosphere, The service was very good with drinks & food served promptly. The house wine was reasonable and the food was well cooked and tasty.Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit with us. We really appreciate your kind words about the service and are pleased that you enjoyed the food and the house wine. We are sorry that you didn’t get to experience the usual atmosphere that our customers know and love. We hope that we can welcome you back soon for a 5 star experience.Muchas Gracias Juliet el bar de tapas

Lovely place to eat tapas. We had the £10 light lunch which included a small starter salad, choice of 2 skewers, including prawns, and a potato choice. A drink was also included. The server was polite and attentive. Definitely a great place to entertain.

Bar Azita

We specialize in charcoal grilled food that is healthy and simple. Our dishes have various influences from across the Mediterranean, from the olive groves of Greece to the tapas bars of Spain, a resulting in an exciting and distinctive blend of flavours.

This was a first visit and can’t say we will be rushing back. The service is fine, but the food wasn’t really up to much. The tapas dishes arrived within minutes of ordering so obviously preprepared and microwaved as needed. Wouldn’t have been so bad if it was evenly heated - chorizo was burning hot and therefore hard as it was over cooked, albondigas were barely warm. Taste of all the dishes was okay but portions are small - not an issue if they are top quality, but these aren’t. The main course we had was ok and freshly cooked, but you don’t get a lot for your money - a £14 chicken dish is just a plate of chicken with some tomato and lettuce (although it was advertised as coming with mushrooms and peppers). The issue with mixing tapas and big plates is that those eating tapas had finished eating before those with main courses got their food. There are better places to go in Hitchin, and I’m guessing the high rating comes from big groups who are looking for atmosphere and value rather than quality.
