Fables Coffee House, Cake Bar and Bistro offer locally grown and sourced ingredients where ever possible. Our style of food is tasty English with a cheeky twist. Our scones are huge and fluffy, and our coffee is strong and wholesome.
I was surprised with a fabulous baby shower yesterday, the venue was beautifully decorated and looked so pretty. We were served a beautiful afternoon tea which looked incredible & tasted amazing too. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I really appreciate Fables staying open late to host my baby shower. It was a perfect evening. Thank you :)

We'd previously experienced the worse and longest service at the Oak Tree the week before, so we had everything crossed for the Talbot.I'd pre-ordered and booked our table for 12, for 12 people, and I initially spoke to Jordan who was very polite and helpful over the phone. I also spoke to other members of staff in the run up to our lunch and they couldn't be anymore helpful. When we arrived on site, we were served at the bar by Leanne who was very accommodating, quick, polite, chatty, pleasant and had a smile on her face. We all sat down and a few minutes later the chef was bringing out our food! We couldn't believe it, as this was 100% better than what we'd received at the Oak Tree, it's called Team work, and it was really nice to see.The food came out on hot plates, the presentation was there, the food came out hot, crispy, and plentiful we couldn't find fault. We just couldn't believe the difference from the week before, we all ate our food in silence enjoying every mouthful, and Leanne came and carried out a table check (which we didn't get at our last lunch) and I can promise you that all the plates were empty! They gave us exactly what we asked for and we were in there less than an hour, not nearly 2 hours when we visited the Oak Tree!!We've decided that we will definitely visit there again in the near future, as some of my colleagues missed out.Hi Tania,Thank you for this amazing review it is massively appreciated! I would like apologise that you were let down by the Oak Tree as that is one of out sister pubs within the same division of Greene king so again I apologise on their behalf. In response to all of your compliments I would like to say that team work is something that we are very proud of as a team and we all work together like a family. Everybody gets along within our team and all new team members are welcomed with open arms.Leanne is a star and as Assistant Manager she leads by example! We strive on great food which is evident in our mystery guest reports with food quality being at 100% in my time as GM here!Thank you again for all your comments, see you again soon!

The food here is amazing and the place is always busy when I go. The staff are friendly and helpful and I can't praise the place enough. Strongly recommend the bacon, poached egg and halloumi wholemeal muffins.
