Early evening mid week booking, so was pleasantly surprised how busy it was. I ask for carbonara, which wasn't on the menu. Low and behold they cooked it for me and it was delicious. Used my meal voucher to get one main free. Thank you

Thought we would treat ourselves, along with our daughter and granddaughter, to an early evening meal but it wasnât quite the treat we expected. The bruschetta was soggy as the bread was hardly toasted and wasnât even as good as I make at home although the garlic bread with tomato was very nice. The carbonara was ok but came without the requested extra chicken. The lamb wasnât particularly good and the risotto very ordinary. The dessert choices were limited on the early bird menu and the ice cream accompanying the chocolate fudge cake had strawberry sauce on it which wasnât pleasant at all and definitely did nothing for the dessert, I left most of it. Wonât be making a return visit in a hurry.

Visited Sunday teatime with prebooked table for 13. Table booked for 5.00pm . The restaurant was busy but by no means full. There appeared to be sufficient staff but nobody being served. At 5.20 managed to catch waitressâs eye and requested someone to take drinks order. Ten minutes or more passed before anyone arrived. A further 20 minutes elapsed before drinks arrived - so a full hour before we managed even a drink. Food finally arrived around 6.30. Second drinks proved impossible and never arrived so the âbottomlessâ drinks that some of the party paid for were actually very expensive single drinks. Nobody ordered puds as we needed to get home before midnight! The food was hit and miss - none of it exceptional - all meals that included french fries were cold. The steaks were chewy. All in all an experience to forget. Just glad we tried it out as Iâd been considering booking an early Christmas celebration here. Such a shame as it could be such a nice venue for cheap and cheerful family get togethers.
