Day tripping with family in the Cotswolds we sought advice from Trip Advisor for a good lunch spot nearby. We followed the reviews and made the trip to Tetbury village where we found the pub gardens, well maintained with colourful hanging pots of begonias inviting us in. Inside the intimate small bar with a few characters chatting on the stools soon had us feeling part of the locals. We were seated at a lovely widow table in the dining area and chose from the wide selection of pub food. Dishes arrived hot and appealing to the eye. Everyone agreed they had made the right choices, particularly when it came to the desserts. One was heard to say "the best Eton mess ever"!

We booked this hotel based on a recommendation from a friend based on it's close proximity to the area in which we wanted to visit. While it's not necessarily luxury, it's simply a charming and delightful place to stay. The staff add to it's atmosphere. While I'm sure there were other restaurants to dine, we opted to eat dinner here every night during our stay - why ? Because the meals were so delicious.

Fortunately we booked lunch; pub was heaving. Table released in 3 minutes and lunch ordered within 5 minutes. We all ordered the same meal which arrived with a VERY meagre helping of veg. After a complaint was raised the delightful and helpful waitress resolved the problem immediately(with profuse aoplogies). Now the meal was excellent! 4 satisfied customers. Not only that but our bill was reduced 10% without request. SERVICE!!
