This is my second visit to this restaurant. If you have never been, it is at Shrewsbury College of Arts & Technology, it is where students train on the job in the catering trade. At lunchtime it is excellent value at £10 for 3 courses.The food and service was excellent again. I would have given it 5 out of 5, but on the day we visited they had less staff, as a number of students were taking exams. Because of this the menu was smaller and I struggled with my choices. The food I had was nice, but I am sure I would have chosen differently, if there was the usual amount of choice.

Took advantage of a TravelZoo offer incorporating dinner, bed and breakfast. My wife and I arrived just before 12noon on a Friday. Our room was, perhaps understandably, not ready, but the staff made us very welcome and arranged for our suitcase to be safeguarded whilst we enjoyed a spot of lunch in the bar area and assured us our suitcase would be taken to our room when it became ready. Upon returning to the pub around 5.30pm we were able to check in and found our suitcase in our room as promised. Happy hour in the bar, which includes complimentary nibbles, ends at 7.0pm on weekdays. Dinner consisted of standard pub fayre served by a young energetic staff.There was a buzz about the place. Breakfast was served in the restaurant as was dinner the night before although the bar area was also utilised for diners. My only minor criticsm of breakfast was that there was no yoghurt available. After checking out staff took care of our luggage until early afternoon and arranged a taxi for us to the railway station. Throughout our stay we found staff courteous and helpful.

Friendly staff and a good priced menu. Quality food - loved the whitebate. Beer and wines - good range and prices.Enjoyed my evening dining so much that I came back for a second night... excellent duck breast
