Went here on a weekend night and it was empty which was a little suspicious! No wonder! We ordered a salt and pepper squid to share to start. It looked good, chilli, peppers, garnish. To say it was oversalted is an understatement! It tasted as though the chef had dropped a salt cellar in the dish. We politely sent it back and asked for one with less salt. The chef, seemingly so incensed by having to make another; sent out battered squid....... With nothing else on the plate, no chilli, no peppers, no vegetable garnish, nothing, just some sad looking squid! The waitress even looked embarrassed to bring it. I can't even remember the mains as they were forgettable, other than to say the noodle dish had pre-cut noodles!! It felt like a nursing home dish of noodles with mouth sized easy chew bitefuls! All the dishes were pitifully small. Awful Chinese. Would not go back and would advise to steer clear due to the tetchy chef and his povvy portions!

First meal under new owners not the best I had duck and mushrooms.... sauce was nice the duck very small chewy grisley pieces not nice at all...chips standard frozen ones...sweet and sour chicken balls ok but lacking in flavour...sweet and sour sauce very weak and no taste...spring roll 95 percent beansrouts not much else so far not impressed..

I visited the golden horse last night for 2 spring rolls. When I got home I was shocked and disappointed to find two bags of buffet sized rolls that I could have bought from sainsburys. The last few takeaways were allegedly duck in pineapple or chicken sweet and sour. The sauce looked the same in all of them. A dodgy neon pink sludge with nondescript "meat ?" that tasted like a cross between blotting paper and cotton wool. My son said his was ok but only bought it as the takeaway is a short distance from where we live. I think the golden horse should be put down out of its misery along with photos of dishes which have been on the window so long that the colour has faded to a blue haze. Very appetising-not !!!!!!
