Well established, quirky bar and grill. BAR.FOOD.GOOD MOOD
Had a really nice meal from a difficult to choose from menu because of the great choice! Only downside was not being offered two cocktails under the 2-4-1 offer so ended up paying £6 for one instead of two. Looking forward to going back to try other meals. Love the decor particularly the pipework loo roll holders!Hi JulieThanks for a great review, we appreciate you taking the time to do so. Sorry about the mix up regarding the cocktails, we hope to see you again real soon.

We were staying a boat on the Broads, we needed to stretch our legs and we needed to eat. We walked through the town centre as most places were closing; we found ourselves on Regent Road, full of typical seaside town shops & eateries. We decided to take a chance on The Regent because the frontage was extremely welcoming. I'm glad we did.The young girl who served us was exceptional, very attentive and friendly. The menu was substantial with lots of fish/seafood options. The dishes we ordered were lovely, very tasty and very obviously fresh. If there is any negative, it's only a little one and it was that the dining area was very warm, even with the doors propped wide open. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit.

Called in here whilst on holiday in Great Yarmouth for the week. Strolled down the front looking for somewhere to eat and thought this place looked nice. Friendly, welcoming staff were a credit to the business. I enquired about the bottled beers and the waitress brought me both types to the table so I could choose.Tzatsiki starter arrived promptly and was delicious. I chose the chicken strips for main, with peppercorn sauce. There was also an option to add halloumi, which I did (I was hungry). It came beautifully presented with the chicken on one side, halloumi on the other, with plenty of salad to accompany. The chips came in a separate basket (nice touch), with my side order of peas in a small bowl. When all put together on the plate it was a taste sensation. I simply didn't want it to end.My wife had the halloumi kebab and pitta, which she loved. It did look fantastic I must say.The menu is vast, with options available for all palates, and if you're a fish lover the specials menu looks cracking. We have already decided we will return this week for "fish n chips", as they looked so good as they came out to other tables.

Our cod and chips was unusual in that the cod was very thinly cut and breaded rather than battered. Tasteless and cooked from the freezer would be my guess. Certainly not fresh. Chips were good in parts only.. This was our mistake a lot of very much better chippies in the town. Not recommended!Iâm a little confused with this review. We have never served breaded cod also have never had breaded cod on the menu. Trip Advisor believes itâs OK for this review to stand. Soâ¦â¦.. Apparently we are now serving breaded cod. AND theyâre found in the freezer??????? Well done reviewer. Hats off to Trip Advisor. Loads of love and kisses Management XXX

My wife and I had read the reviews for this place so we thought we would try it out. We were not disappointed as the fish was excellent quality, perfectly cooked and served in a lovely light crispy batter and all this at a very reasonable price. Top value for money!!

A family run business for over 6 decades, serving a range of food from burgers, pastas, steaks, Seafood and more! We also have vegan, vegetarian & gluten free options available. Our Café- Café Ocean is open Tuesday - Friday and we also offer hotel rooms!
We were visiting the area to see family who booked this restaurant for dinner. At 730 it was packed and people were waiting for tables. It was a great atmosphere. The staff were all amazing, friendly , attentive and very efficient. There is a great menu with a great selection of seafood and steak options with other choices. You can preorder some dishes eg Dover sole which some of the group had. We all had starters which were all good, the dip with the salt and pepper squid was very spicy and delicious, the local mussels in garlic sauce were so fresh, the garlic prawns and the fresh scallops were very good too. The steaks were also beautifully cooked and of good quality. Mine with pepper sauce was not hot but could be eaten , the fresh onion rings were great along with the chips. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would recommend this restaurant.

Managed to get booked in for 4.30 on a Saturday, so went for a country drive and my mind is selecting what I wanted to eat as I drove along. Now love the lobster Thermidor but had an anchoring for a fillet steak and I could taste it in my mind.So when arriving I had a dilemma, but that was soon allayed when I mentioned surf and turf I was offered half a lobster together with a fillet steak, lubbly jubbly. So we started with humous and taramasalata c/w pitta which both were excellent, but are very filling, Jo had bass with trimmings and I had me surf & turf.I wasnât disappointed, the fillet was cooked to perfection, medium rare, the knife cut through it like butter and it had that succulent taste that my mind had whilst driving, brilliant, the Thermidor also was to perfection. We were both to full to try one of the homemade puddings Thanks Robbie and staff, glad you fitted us in before your holidays.Have a great holiday and see you soon.Hi, thank you so much for a great review. It was a real pleasure to serve your special "surf and turf", it's not everyday we see an order for steak and lobster :-) ! We all had a great holiday thank you and we are now looking forward to your return when we hope to twist your arm to tray one of Ella's fantastic home made desserts
