Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Sittingbourne. Sittingbourne is an industrial town situated in the Swale district of Kent in south east England, 17 miles (27 km) from Canterbury and 45 miles (72 km) from London. The town sits beside the Roman Watling Street, an ancient British trackway used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons and next to the Swale, a strip of sea separating mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey. The town became prominent after the death of Thomas Becket in 1170, since it provided a convenient resting point on the road from London to Canterbury and Dover.

This is a great pub, very friendly and welcoming. Always get a good meal here. Biggest gripe is the lack of glasses.. vodka and coke in a half pint peroni glass!! very rarely is there a gin glass.. small detail but really let's it down. And this wasn't late in the evening so being busy cant be the reason. Hi Trin42Thanks for taking the time to let us know how we did. I have addressed the glass situation and can confirm new glasses are now available.Have a great day! We hope to see you soon!Kind regardsRob and The Billet team

Restaurant. Lovely family run village pub, and restaurant. Garden overlooking fields in a peaceful location. Dogs welcome in the public bar and garden.
Went here for a booked meal on a Saturday night as a table of 3. Positives were that itâs set in a gorgeous location with fields and pretty lights. We ate in the conservatory which was nice. Also the waitresses were very nice and helpful.Negatives - Cajun chicken burger was no good it was more like blow your head of spicy and burnt and tough. The bun it was in was toasted til it was hard. Someone else had scampi and liked that.We waited quite a long time for our food to come out and had to keep asking for drinks as they didnât come over and ask.I would definitely go here for an evening drink in the beautiful garden but I really didnât rate the food - Iâm sorry! (Maybe just that dish but then us two had the same thing so couldnât say).

Telephoned and booked for that Saturday evening. We got a great welcome. There was a reasonable menu choice and our waitress found out about the food from the kitchen. The portions were good and the all the individual ingredients were perfectly cooked. There was a good wine selection at a reasonable price. They have only 2 draught beers: a light or a dark bitter.

Welcome to the Red Lion Public House in Sittingbourne town centre. The pub is steeped in history more than six hundred years old. Today though it offers an inviting place to meet with friends, enjoy an extensive menu, whether it is for a quiet lunch throu
Delicious huge roasts all freshly cooked for £9.50 in a historic coaching inn. The home made nut roast encased in flaky pastry is wonderful. Last time we went another couple were with us and they said the meat (various choices) was great too.Recommend

A listed coaching inn set in the heart of the Kent countryside. The Chequers oozes history and charm with its oak timbers, mullion windows and inglenook fireplace. A fine selection of real ales and wines. The home cooked food is excellent, locally sourced
We dropped in here on a whim and were very pleasantly surprised.Itâs in a quiet village high street and obviously popular with locals. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Most importantly the reasonably priced food was excellent. Burger and fish and chips simple but very tasty.

We couldnât decide where to eat and finally chose the Dover Castle Inn. It was and extremely busy Saturday evening, but they made room for us and provided exceptional service. We decided on the mussels and chips, and were each presented with an enormous bowl of mussels, chips and bread. Delicious!!!!

Visited this place for the first time since it's been a restaurant. Previously, it was a pub.Went with a group of people. There is a good selection of food on the menu, all at reasonable prices. You can choose between having starters and mains, or simply a selection of small plates. We had a variety of both. The waiter/owner ensured that all the food was served at the same time. The food, without exception, was delicious. The portions were huge, although it was explained that they could do smaller lunch versions of some of the dishes. It would have been nice to see a lunch menu if they had one. However, we were very impressed with the food and the standard of service. This is certainly one of the best places to eat close to Sittingbourne.

The Three Tuns was built in 1468 and has had an ale licence since 1764. Inside you will find crackling open fires and a traditional style pub, plus a separate dining area serving fine restaurant food with an ever changing seasonal menu using local produce
We sat in the garden and enjoyed a seafood platter board each. It was fantastic and we struggled to get through it all. The service was top notch and we found it all to be a great experience. We will definitely be returning.
