Visiting Rochdale to see family. I was recommended to eat at the Wagon inn since it has had new owners. We were not disappointed. Friendly service, excellent choice menu serving traditional food and Canary Island tapas. I had several tapas, the steak and prawn skewers the crispy mozzarella and potatoes bravos and my brother had scampi and chips. All the food was lovely and fresh. Next time we are visiting we will be coming here to eat.

A family gathering saw us dining at the restaurant. Having never been before it was to be an opening experience. One to which we were very pleased with. The situation of the establishment is good, overlooking the lake, with good views. Food selection was very good, along with the service. Our meals were of good quality and were relished by all.Thank you.

Traditional English country pub, offering a warm welcome, real ale and high quality home cooked food. Dog and child friendly with beer garden.
Excellent service and great food. We were so well looked after on a very hot day, taking a break during a walk. Having asked if we could have our water bottles filled, this lovely girl returned them filled with ice. Now, that's attention to detail. Very friendly. Lovely atmosphere.

Very overpriced for what was a dry and bland cheese and onion pie. This place is basically for older people who are very stuck in their ways and love traditional overcooked and under seasoned food!! If you enjoy flavour and variety then you will be seriously disappointed! The vegetarian options are truly woeful and like going back to the day of the 80's where all you got was cheese and onion pie! I suppose with the amount of pensioners coming here they probably don't need to expand that bit of the menu much!!

Visited with 2 friends for a meal on a Thursday. The menu was varied and had lots of options. The bar was kitteded out with lots of beer, ale and spirt options for everybody and the ambiance in the place was good. The food arrived with a mountain of BEANS! It was tasty but sadly not anything to run back for! I would visit again.

This old coaching house dates back to 1670 and has been in the Marney family for 30 years!. We are situated high in the Pennine hills on the edge of Littleborough, the Pennine way passes our front door and the 'tour de France' on the 6th july is on our do

A newly refurbished gastro-pub Located on the outskirts of Lancashire's countryside, The Bird at Birtle promises to deliver sumptuous, flavoursome dishes, local cask ales and heart-warming drinks in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Our Bar opening time
When we booked we were told that they would need the table back by 8.30 which is understood. However whilst there we were reminded constantly and eventually felt completely pushed out. I spoke to the manager and told him we had waited 50 minutes between starters and main course. He said that we hadn't and he had checked with the kitchen. So I am a liar apparently. He wasn't interested and we left without having a desert or time to think. Last time we came, we had a superb Sunday Lunch and I scored a 5. This time the food was average and the management attitude shocking. Only consolation was a lovely lady who served us and seemed embarrassed by the whole thing. I don't care who the manager checked with, we know how long we waited between courses. Will not be back!!

Team McNeeney are now in their sixth successful year at The Oxford, sporting a range of cask ales and fabulous wines alongside a dedicated gin & tonic menu. Their cheese & onion pie is famous & Tomâs chilli has grown a cult following, but whatever your ta
Had the chilli. Very nice. Slight smokey flavour from the brisket. Came with little cups of cheese, jalepenos and v nice sour cream to add as much or as little as required. No problem with me having half rice half chips.Staff and delivery , second nature, no awkwardness and confidence in delivery. Slick and quick. Its family run , they have seen it all probably over decades and it shows. Table service for drinks not too much trouble and attentive. The menu looks interesting and traditional, with just enough modern aspects to make it up to date for the youngsters. You can tell they think things through here with good old fashioned common sense.Everywhere clean , plenty of parking. Busy between 5-8 on a Tuesday night says it all.Price wise, 11 for the chilli is fine. Sure a bit pricey for what it is, but hardly an expensive place to eat in comparison to gastro pubs.Well done. Ill be back when in area working and will be my default place to eat while staying in a local hotel.

As we have moved onto the same street as the pub we decided to give this place a try and we were very, very impressed. The service is absolutely outstanding, the staff were extremely helpful, food was extremely nice we were not intending to eat but from seeing other customers meals we thought we had to try it, the kids loved their food from the kids menu and we shared a Mediterranean Platter and hanging kebab which were fantastic topped off with two very, very nice Long Island Ice Tea's from the cocktail menu. Prices are very reasonable and will definitely be going back regularly in future.Hi Time, Welcome to the Haugh and thanks v much for your review , its much appreciated . Hope to see you soon.
