Situated on County Road, in the quiet town of Ormskirk, this attractive pub is a hit with locals and students alike. This lovely old building has ample parking and a large beer garden with heaters, tables and chairs. The interior provides a cosey atmosphe
Driven past so many times and finally went for lunch with daughter. What a lovely pub this is. Welcoming staff, lovely decor and variety of seating arrangements grounded with a good menu. We chose a chicken wrap and cheese and pickle sandwich with an extra side of fries. Made fresh and arrived in a timely manner, well presented and tasted delicious. No time or room for anything else but I was not disappointed and glad I took the time to go in. Hi ellebeehomeThank you so much for your 5* review. We truly are delighted you came and gave us a try and enjoyed our pub. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards Louise

Family breakfast after staying st Premier Inn.Wide choice of food as always. It wasnât a buffet style breakfast for hot food you have to order. We ordered 9 people in party and rather than bring it out a bit at time they severed it all at once but most of the breakfasts were cold.We had to send at least 2 breakfasts back to be done again.Obviously they canât deal with bigger parties. The staff were helpful though but rushed off their feet .

Went for tea last night, after driving past regularly, the homemade chips were great just as advertised on the sign outside (thatâs what brought us in) the food was really really good. The fish chips and peas was good the steak pie was also good. My partner enjoyed the Pendleton witch drink. Very nice staff great village pub. Iâll come back just for the chips......

The Farmers Arms occupies a beautful canal side location in Burscough with amazing views over the local countryside. The entire venue was extensively refurbished in 2013 to provide great surroundings in which to enjoy top quality pub food and drink.
we stayed at a local Burscough B&B on a self drive UK trip and had dinner at The Farmers Arms.Food was normal pub country food and was sufficient for the two of us.there is free parking availablewe would recommend eating at the Pub.

Came with my father today, sadly disappointed. Roast Sunday lunch, veg good but roast potatoes a let down, hard to cut and earthy tasting, clearly not home roast but bought in and probably deep fried (unpleasant). Dessert was over 30 minutes to arrive for a slice of luke warm apple pie with ice cream and a lemon curd cake with ice cream which was described as lemon drizzle. Having been an executive chef I certainly know the difference. Poor show from the staff member with a couldn't care a less attitude, when we pointed out we had been waiting for our dessert for 30 minutes. While others arrived sat late mains and were now ordering their dessert. Won't be back anytime soon when your competition is Miller & Carter.

Pub in a beautiful setting by the Liverpool Leeds ship canal.
Fab food, excellent lunch tasting menu, 3 courses for £12, gravlax, tempura chicken goujons and lovely chocolate brownie dessert, partner had steak sandwich, grandson had a burger. Lovely relaxed lunch accompanied by a nearby dragonfly attracted by the adjacent canal.

We found this place by accident after visiting nearby Edge Hill University, was greeted by a pleasant and helpful member of staff who after asking if we had a reservation ( good sign, but we hadn't) found us a table upstairs! The pub was busy but the service was excellent, the food very good and plentiful, hence the four empty plates, all in all a very good experience and i would have no hesitation in recommending the Cricketers to anyone in the area and i certainly will call again in the future!

Hello there! The Kicking Donkey is an elegant yet relaxed place to come and drink, eat and meet with friends and family. It's a classic country pub with bags of character, boasting a selection of cracking real ales and stunning wines, and has shelves cram
I am not sure I should be writing this review as it will definitely spoil things for everyone who is already aware of The Kicking Donkey. We have just returned home from a family Sunday dinner at The Kicking Donkey, from the moment we arrived until we left the friendly greeting, the service, the food - all totally faultless. Even down to provide a toy box for two toddlers to keep amused while the adults enjoyed the food and good conversation. I only hope that not two many people read this review or that the staff can maintain the standards that we were privileged to be witness to today.Thank you all for a lovely Sunday evening

We went to the Hop Vine for lunch today, the place was quite busy so I was glad I booked in advance.Order was taken quickly and arrived in good time and our choice of steak and ale pie was a good one! Perfectly cooked and tender meat in great pastry all covered in an excellent thick and tasty gravy. Staff were polite and helpful but not pushy.Couldnât fault the food, service or the environment, well done Hop Vine!
