Called in after a trip to Ledbury, as well entered first thing you see is the carvery. There was a large selection of vegetables a nd choice of a couple meat. We made our way to the bar, greeted nicely, it was a hot day, so had cokes (pint) £3,30. We decided to not have the carvery, but to order from menu, had a good selection, we decided on rump steaks. The meals arrived in good time and were well cooked.

Popped in for a few drinks. The Retreat is a popular bar with locals, geared up for sports with to screens indoors and outside. Music is also provided with either a DJ or live acts.Bar service and cleanliness good, ale is kept ok. More of a modern bar than other hostelries in the town, so popular with the younger adults.

This pub is well hidden in the countryside near Ledbury. I ordered the pork sausages, mash and onion gravy. Delicious. Tender sausages, piles of hot mashed potatoes and wonderful gravy. Very hard to beat. Service was pleasant. I had an elderflower presse since I was driving. It was a great drink and at least matched an alcoholic drink. Recommended.

We saw the sign outside saying family friendly and dogs welcome , on entering this public house the women behind the door asked if we had booked even though the place was empty inreplied we would like coffee and have a look at the menu and was told to go down the road to a coffee bar where dogs were allowed, this is the only place in this area we were made feel unwelcome , give it a miss if you have dogs ,or you like polite service .

dog and family friendly 15th century pub in the herefordshire countryside. serving traditional pub food all the way to more exciting fish dishes and other specials. Steak offers on a monday and fish & chips offer on a wednesday.
Caught the bus up from a local caravan site. We have eaten here before so expecting the same great food. We found out the pub has been taken over by the old manager so we thought everything would be great. Disappointed to find they have changed the beer selection and no longer do sandwiches on a Saturday, despite them being on the menu! Very disappointed to have to have a side salad as nothing else was appealing. Would have loved a BLT ( better call in the week next time - thatâs if the do sandwiches!!).

We were walk ins and were immediately accommodated and made to feel welcome. No loud music in the background, doors at the rear wide open to allow lots of fresh air in and space between tables made us feel very comfortable.Choice on menu was good with GF options available. All the staff we encountered were very polite, well turned out, attentive and nothing was to much trouble. Food was very tasty and with decent portion sizes as well.I'm glad that you enjoyed yourselves with us. Come and see us again soon.
