Called in for a couple of drinks with girlfriend on way home.Place is looking tired and dated and desperate for refurbishment.Chavs with stupid baseball caps on wrong way round filling one end of bar, locals and characters milling around half hammered.Raining out side so the smokers all crowded in the foyer filling that with the stench of smoke, customers having to fight their way through the smoke to get in and obviously it's blowing its way in to stink the pub out.Staff seem disinterested which is a pity really because we would have loved to had stayed longer but the smell of smoke or weed or whatever they were smoking in the foyer drifting in was too much for us to bear any longer. All in all, it's a Wetherspoonns, tired, dated, filled with locals and Chavs and stinking of smoke, weed or whatever they're burning in the entrance.Never mind.Sorry your experience fell short on this occasion, if you would like to discuss further please donât hesitate to contact me at the pub on 01405 722600.

What a great evening. The menu was very comprehensive with something for everyone. The food was lovely and a generous sized portion (highly recommend the peri peri burger). It was very good value for money. The staff all very pleasant and chatty. We will be going back.

Very pleasant pub in a stunning location on the Ouse/Humber with a conservatory dining room that looks across the river to RSPB Blacktoft Sands. While husband was ordering drinks, I was at our table with the binoculars out, watching a Marsh Harrier. Very good carvery meal, with fresh veg and very good roast potatoes. Lamb was tender, too. Lovely staff, and very good value. Only trouble was the huge portion size - if we return to this part of the country I will order a child's portion. I really wanted dessert but was far too full.

Traditional country pub. Really well priced food, good choice and well cooked. The bar isnât designed very well so makes life difficult for the bar staff which means drinks rounds take a long time to get but really well priced drinks and a nice relaxed atmosphere make this pub a perfect choice. (They did keep running out of ice so Iâd recommend investing in a bigger/better ice machine)

4 of us visited an a saturday evening, the place was welcoming and quite busy. We were seated in the conservatory, drinks were ordered and brought to the table along with the menus. Our order consisted of appetisers, 2 portions of garlic mushrooms and one bruschetta, the mains were a scampi, two burgers and a lasagne and a side order of onion rings. All the food was very good, and the plates were cleared. The burgers were very solid tasty meat and served on a brioche bun, just superb and the french fries were fresh homemade and gorgeous, and the onion rings also homemade and not greasy at all. Staff were friendly and attentive and we will be back.

We arrived without a booking ,greeted by Jack who found us a table.Despite the fact that he was very young he was both personable and professional.I had a Burrito cold salad and will be having it again when I return. We were sat in close proximity to a table of 4 one who continually asked for gravy and the staff obliged. The customer service and staff were excellent and they were really busy.Thankyou for taking the time to review your visit to Aire and Calder. It's always great for us to hear that our guests have enjoyed their visit. We aim to serve up great memories and hospitality for all of our guests and I'm glad you feel we did so on this occasion. Your feedback will be shared with our dedicated team.We look forward to welcoming you back to our restaurant soon.

Relaxed place to dine and drink in the centre of Howden. For a full view of our menu please visit our website.
The food was lovely and the starter was well worth the 37 minute wait - the main meal was nice but again well worth the 52 minute wait, glad we were not in a rush or needing to be somewhere else, the lovely waitress i think her name was Rebecca was very polite whilst being extremely over worked - well done that girl! The wait however would put us off going again.

The Kings Head is a very old traditional village pub, full of character, dating back to the 1800's. We are a family-run establishment, suplying great food, homemade and locally sourced, served by friendly staff in a pleasent and comfortable enviroment.
Visited the kings head at Barmby on the Marsh tonight. This is a beautiful homely country pub. The food is absolutely fantastic, we had three courses and all equally as great as each other. Very good value for money, the staff are great very accommodating. A very good golden nugget. We will defiantly be back.Regards Andy & Denise
