Great choice and the nightly special eg Fridayâs fish and chips at £7.50 was extremely good value. Even the fillet steak at £15-ish was tremendous vfm. High quality ingredients and friendly service make this a place we shall return to. Two mains, two glasses of wine, sparkling water and a gnt £40 canât complain. Well done! Mary1552, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at our pub We look forward to your next visit, take care!

This is a great little bar/restaurant which is obviously well supported and is well worth finding. Not the easiest place to find, but time taken is time well spent.Super friendly staff, great choice of ales, lagers and ciders, food looks and smells great, booking would probably be essential for Sunday Lunch? Parking is slightly awkward, because of inconsiderate car owners, who make the dead end street narrower than is comfortable. But, maybe I'm just a rubbish driver?A point dropped for the noisy and annoying couple at the next table...although Monday lunch could be their 'special day'?The gent's toilets are spotlessly clean and I believe the WiFi is free and live sports and live music is a regular feature. There is also a small, terraced outside seating area.

We have a bar area for light bites or a more substantial meal, our bar is dog friendly. We also have a fully laid up with white cloth restaurant area, we do recommend booking in advance for our restaurant.
We had met with friends for a dog walk and and booked a table here for a roast, which was very enjoyable. Roast beef was super, tender and cooked just right, with a good selection of fresh vegetables. An added bonus us that our dogs were welcomed in the bar as we enjoyed our food. A good experience, we will be back.Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your Sunday lunch with us. We are more than happy to allow dogs in the bar all year round. Marilyn the landlady and chef will be thrilled with your comments on her meat. Look forward to see you again in the future.

I enjoyed a âsmallâ turkey roast lunch with a lovely cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage and roast potatoes! It was all hot and very tasty. I also had homemade bread and butter pudding with cream which was delicious. This was my first visit but Iâll definitely be back!

The chicken goujons starter was tasty, cooked perfectly too. Scampi and chips was good. Fish and chips was nice, lovely fresh tasting peas, shame there was still skin on the fish. Waiter was friendly, doing his best, but more training and better communication needed. He came to our table twice with the wrong meals before eventually arriving with ours, obviously he wasn't told which table to take the food to. I didn't notice any numbers on tables either, perhaps that would help. Reasonable prices for food and drinks, would be happy to return if in the area. The whole place was clean and looked good as well, made us chuckle to see some of the light fittings had been put in upside down.

The staff were very friendly and helpful - we visited on a Saturday evening for dinner so the service was a little bit slow. The food was very tasty and nice and hot. The only problems we had was that the lettuce that came with Posh Prawn & Lobster Cocktail had been cut into quarters some time before serving and was brown on the cut sides - not good!! - also the rippled meringue in the Mixed Berry Pavlova was so tough it was impossible to get a spoon into it, let alone eat it!! This again must have been made some time before serving for the juice to affect the meringue. This was replaced with a another one which was as it should be. The meal was still good and would return. Would have given an extra star but for the small problems.

Been meaning to try this place for some time finally got here, but wish I hadn't. Looked at the food and crossed that straight off the to do list, just basic pub grub with very high prices. Looked at the real ales but nothing special all I had was an HSB And the wife a coffee 6.50 rediculous price in sure he got it wrong , dearer here than the red lion that has a much better menu and beer option. The guy who served was polite and well dressed that's about the only good thing I found here.I'm sorry to hear that you weren't happy with our menu choices or the Specials board. It certainly isn't basic, but we all have different taste buds and opinions!!

Great fresh food cooked lovingly by our in house team, please call for reservations.
Managed to find a space amongst the 5 available at the rear of the pub. There is ample parking further along at the community centre. There is an entrance from the car park through an original alleyway, passed the beer garden, kitchen, eating area, snug and eventually into the small traditional bar area.Food menu is displayed on a chalkboard by the bar and is quite extensive for the size of the hostelry. This is a great example of a village pub with a jovial atmosphere from the locals. Bowls of freshly cooked roast potatoes circulated through the evening to encourage more drinking. It works too.
