Its been a while since we last came here, so we decided to try it again and wow what a great steak!Called in on the way back from the City shopping so we were tired and grumpy but after both having steaks we could have done another ten rounds of shopping !Lovely landlady and great food, thanks.

Lovely staff and great service. Sunday lunch. Enu includes traditional roast dinner and many other options. We had vegetarian but roast, omelette and chips, scampi and chips and toasted halloumi sandwiches and salad. All very good and reasonably priced too.

A traditional country free house, b&b and restaurant, with excellent home cooked food and luxury accommodation, in the middle of the beautiful Norfolk countryside.
Family of 3 stayed for 5 nights B&B. Accommodation clean and comfy , breakfasts were great . Barry went out of his way to accommodate my daughter who asked for off menu pancakes. We had some evening meals too - Food was amazing, recommend the pies. Thanks for a great stay all done with typical Norfolk humor , will return if ever in area again.

Visited with friends on steak night, Friday. Steak served with only sauce, fries and half mushroom. No peas, tomato or veg! Staff happy to ask if all ok but unable to cope/deal with the answer "no".Although we are local we haven't eaten here for couple of years due to previous disappointment and will not return til?Good eveningThank you for taking the time to review your visit to the George. I am sorry that you feel it has not improved. Our menu states that our steaks are served with a choice of potatoes and choice of sauce and a flat mushroom. Should you require anything else such as a side of peas or vegetables this can be ordered from the menu. Our steaks are quality, locally sourced meat and we are priced competitively alongside the other independent free houses in the area. I am not sure how to respond to your comments regarding the staff being unable to deal with the answer no. According to your review your complaint does not seem to be with the quality of the food you were cooked but what came with the dish. As I stated in my response you would have been aware of this upon ordering. Kind regards Rebecca

The Railway Arms is a country pub built in 1867. We moved into the pub in August 2017 and promptly closed it for renovations, which included a new roof and windows, all of which mirror what was originally there. We re-opened the pub in November 2017, and
three roasts to choose from, plenty of properly carved meat, and a range of interesting tasty fresh vegetables. The gravy is terrific !Hi TimWe are so pleased you enjoyed it so much.....looking forward to seeing you again.Regards Cliff and Anne-Marie

We booked a table with friends for lunch. The restaurant was very pleasant with lovely staff. I ordered the steak pie and mash with veg and my husband ordered the burger and fries. My husbands burger was cooked to perfection and he really enjoyed it. My steak pie was tasty but the crust was hard and inedible to eat. I think it was put in the microwave for too long. I did tell the waitress to pass on my comments. Apart from that we really enjoyed it and will be back.I really not sure how to respond to this as I'm thrilled you left us a 4 star review but I can assure you our pies are handmade and cooked thru the oven, sorry if on this occasion you found the pastry too hard.We hope you will come and try us againKind regardsVikki

Set in the village of Brisley on a beautiful common, The Bell is a traditional country inn with exceptional views of unadulterated Norfolk countryside.
Sited in a modest village with view over a vast common, on one of the B-roads across the county from Lynn to north of Norwich. With a french chef, daily changes of local produce, sensible pricing, well-tuned local ownership .... has become a really good mid-Norfolk stop. Excellent lunches, and very busy every evening with bar meals or restaurant.

Staying in the area for a short break, the revues of the Mermaid looked inviting and Iâm so pleased we found it tucked away in lovely countryside. We took a chance on getting a table as we hadnât booked, but were lucky there was one available. It was difficult to choose from such a great menu selection, but went for the pie chart. I had a Spanish pie and my husband had steak and carrot pie. Bother weâre piping hot and delicious, with freshly cooked new potatoes and vegetables. Perfect! We just about had room for a lovely summer pudding and an apple and blackberry crumble. Sadly, no room for coffee!Although it was busy, service was as good as the food. We would definitely visit again when we come back to the area for another break. I was unsure whether to do a review, as I wouldnât want too many people finding out about such a lovely homely pub, but it deserves recognition. I just hope thereâs a table next time we visit! Thank youThank you very much for such a detailed and well written review. I will pop it on my Facebook page. We will always try a fit 2s in even if we are busy, look forward to seeing you again
