Went in for a drink expecting a quiet pub, it was far from quiet , the pub was absolutely packed predominantly with guys, the six nations rugby had just been on so presumably this was the reason. The bar staff were efficient and pleasent , pointing out a quieter area for us to sit once others had vacated there seat. This is when the problem started.... when we were moving tables , my mum who is 78 with Alzheimerâs walked straight into a little black dog that was laying in shadow between tables , she went flying into the table and the dog was yelping ,and the dog went to bite mum ( the owner of the dog did apologise) mum was naturally distressed and unclear what had happened.... before we left some one else came in carrying 2 small dogs and just put them down and they were left just wandering around.. I am absolutely not anti dogs but do thing if pubs are to allow dogs they should not be left to wander around or lay in walk through areas between tables etc. Also there was no distinction from allowing dogs into areas were food was served, so we decided not to eat. So for us we most certainly would not be returning.Hi Jacqueline, we are so sorry that you had a bad experience at The Lord Nelson. On the day in question, as you say, we were extremely busy and found you a quieter place to sit. Although we are a dog friendly pub, we do not allow dogs in what is mostly used as a dining area, however we were not serving food on this day due to Harry being on annual leave (there was a sign on the entrance explaining that food was not being served). However we were offering snacks to eat around the pub to the people who had come to watch the rugby and football, at their request. We apologise for any distress to you and your family and please rest assured that when the kitchen is open dogs are not allowed into the dining area x

I've visited the Dressers a few years ago, but since my last visit there have been many changes. Glad to say the atmosphere is still there. There were three of us in for lunch and we had the steak and ale pie which was excellent. Plenty of choice on the menu, with specials, meal deals, pizza etc. Since my last visit it has b&b accommodation, a s seperately run oriental restaurant next door but still manages to keep the country pub image.

This delightful country pub has wooden beams open fires and flagstone floors that give it a wonderfully inviting feel. Itâs a peaceful setting surrounded by mature trees and greenery right next to the picturesque Leeds Liverpool canal. On a sunny day this
We hadn't been here for an evening meal for a while and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of service and food. There is an excellent gluten free menu with plenty of choice which makes a big difference to my husband. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. It was all helped by a large amount off the bill with discount voucher that I had received by email. So all in all top marks, thanks for a lovely evening and we wont leave it so long this time before we return.Hi Sarah, thank you so much for leaving us such a great review. Im so happy to hear that you decided to try us again and you enjoyed your visit with. Its great to hear that your husband enjoyed our Non Gluten menu and that you made the most out of our email club. I will certainly pass your lovely comments back to the rest of the team. Hope to see you again soon, Sharon

Olde English Traditional Country PubHome cooked traditional English Pub DishesOpen fires - laid back atmosphere. All are welcome including well behaved dogs.
Called at lunchtime for a sandwich and was very disappointed with the food we received. Have eaten here many times and have always been happy with the food, especially the sandwiches which used to be served on lovely crispy bread, not an unbuttered barm cake. Will not be calling for lunch again.

A family run pub serving homemade Pub Classics, open from noon daily, serving food until 9pm Monday _ Saturday and 7.30 pm Sunday. Disabled facilities and a beer garden with parking available to the rear of the pub
Visited on a busy Thursday evening. A friendly local pub with houses nearby so be quiet as you leave! Good selection of reasonably priced meals & a good selection of beers. Servings are large and the chicken and mushroom stroganoff was well presented and pretty good. For dessert, I had to have the chocolate fudge cake which was pretty amazing.

We visited the Mediterranean on the recommendation of my dad, who had been several times before, to celebrate his birthday.Gorgeous setting and lovely comfortable atmosphere. On arrival our table had banners and table decorations....a very thoughtful touch! The menu was really interesting and had lots of choice. The food was amazing...very generous portion sizes and lovely presentation. My chicken tagine was packed with flavour and succulent chicken. The midweek offers sound like really excellent value for money. We will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
