The Butchers Block is a laid back country style pub and restaurant which caters for all the family, including our four legged friends. The pub is nestled in the village of Burham, amidst glorious Kent countryside. Situated only 5 miles from both Maidstone
Friends of ours suggested we go to the Poofters Knob as they called it affectionately , as I am not from the area I googled it and it looked ideal, anyway far from "nestled in lovely village" I love it how they come up with this terminology, very estate agentish, The pub is actually in the middle of a very narrow street with rundown houses untidy cars littered everywhere and a skip outside of one of the houses. As I have a large car and due to a scruffy van parked opposite the car park, I did hesitate to go in but noticed a woman standing in her dressing gown watching me, I politely asked if there was anything wrong and she said that the pub was unpopular with the locals as their delivery vehicles keep hitting the cars due to the road being narrow, I parked further up the road (and my mirror was pushed in) Although we were going to eat we changed our minds, soon as I see expensive stuff like edible flowers truffles wannabe Gordon Ramsey's etc that you see on daytime cookery programs I am like no way ok for some but not me, so we just had one drink before going to the Moat for a proper good old fashioned Steak Meal with all the bells and whistles.

Happened to pass this little gem on our way to Rochester castle today. We and our Jack Russell cross were welcomed with open arms. A comfortable seating in the back bar with a fan to keep us cool and a welcome bowl of water for our dog. Well cooked roast beef washed down with a real ale and a nice white wine. Would recommend and definitely return.

The Tiger Moth is a large pub, which offers great food at a very reasonable price! We are very family friendly and children are welcome up until 9pm. We have five large screen TV's, one of which is 3D and one is outisde by the smoking area so you never ha
When we arrived we were advised it would be a 45 minute wait for food, but still decided to stay. Having sat at a table with a drink after ordering our food we watched the tables around us get their food, even though they had ordered after us. When our food arrived our starter and main courses were brought to the table at the same time. When this was pointed out to the waiter and we asked for the main courses to be taken away he said 'well they will just get cold, babe'. We asked for a manager who assured us that we would get fresh main courses and gave us a free drink each. When we got our main courses one of them was inedible, the steak was like rubber and the chicken and scampi were tasteless. The staff called everyone babe or sweetheart, which having worked in customer service is a big no no.Overall a very poor experience which will stop us from returning.Thank you for letting us know about your recent visit to our pub, and I'm really sorry that we've not been able to give you a great experience. This isn't our usual standard and your feedback will be taken on board

A great British Tavern sitting upon the River Medway, in Upnor village. Serving traditional cask ales, ciders and lagers. A team of chefs, and friendly warm staff serving traditional British Fayre, specialising in fresh fish and local produce. Relax on th
Lovely quiet pub overlooking the river. We decided to eat inside as it was very peaceful and comfortable. The portion of steak and ale pie with mash and peas was enormous. It was delicious but in spite of not having breakfast I couldn't finish it. I did have a small problem with the ladies loo. I couldn't find the light switch, the doors didn't seem to lock and there was no handbag hook and I do hate having to put my bag on the floor. However I could have asked for help with the switch, left my bag with my husband and sang while in the loo. A great lunch we will be back.Thank you, Margaretena, most kind of you to take the time to place a nice review. I will instruct some hooks for the ladies loos, nobody has ever said this before. The lights are in the bmain kitchen they should have been put on by staff in the morning, i will have a word with them for the future, many thanks.
