Considering they had weeks of notice and had plenty of time to prep the event we asked for. We came away disappointed and cond. The home made cake we also asked for and prepared to pay for came out brought shop looking a little sorry for itself. Not happy as it was my mother's 50th celibration. Felt rushed as was told to move tables to eat our cake as that section was closing.. That baffled me as we only moved up one table. Won't be returning as spoiled everything we had hopes for.cant complain about the food as that was delishious.

I stayed at the premier inn and ate here Staff and service spot on very personable young ladies Especially Amber. Her service in the evenings was impeccable very friendly professional. Breakfast again was directed by Julian again great customer service .I found the front of house staff dealt with late food complaints very well it is a popular place so book ahead. I chose the vegan burger delish , but didnt agree with the tomatoes ends in bun. Overall attention to detail is all that's needs. If definatly stay and eat here again.

We went for Sunday lunch. The owners were "hands on"; bar / front of house and very welcoming and friendly. They have been there 30 years and their experience together with genuine love for the trade, really shows.A very cosy pub with many regulars I was told. Everywhere very clean. Service very friendly and prompt. I had the Vegetarian roast [that included vegetarian gravy]. The vegetables were fresh and I think steamed - truly good. My partner had the mixed meats roast which he said, was "excellent".I only took photos of their amazing garden so please go experience their hospitality for yourselves and enjoy the food at reasonable prices.I think this place will be great at Christmas but will be returning again before then.Thank you!

Visited in the evening, candles on tables and a great atmosphere. Fantastic service by Brook recommending two burgers chef should be very proud of. Portion sizes were generous on a reasonably priced menu with lots of fresh local options. Service was relaxed but attentive, even managing to arrange the dessert to go as we couldnât finish everything - Thank you Old Mill

The chill of an early Autumn evening saw us in search of a cosy pub in the countryside with good food, quite where and what pub remained uncertain. So it was that we approached a T-junction in Little Chart and spotted the beautiful Dering windows of the lovely building, and we just had to Swan Inn.A warm welcome on a chilly evening was exactly what we got, and we asked if a table was available for the two of us, in no time we were ushered through, holding our Estella and rhubarb gin, to table 14. We noted three gorgeous fireplaces that had âcome back in winterâ written all over them. Concentrating now on the extensive menu, and glancing at the meals of other diners arriving, we abandoned any thought of starters, knowing the main course would be more than enough for us.My wife had a fish pie served in an earthenware pot, and topped off with cheese and potato that bubbled gently, served with cauliflower, carrots, and peas. That she uttered not a word for at least fifteen minutes told me her food was delicious and much nicer than my company. My stuffed chicken breasts demanded my full attention, so the silence was welcome; as welcome as the succulent chicken and cheesy mash that I enjoyed with similar vegetables as my wife. At this stage, we generally break our pledge to stop eating upon arrival of the sweet menu; not so tonight as I eased my belt out a notch I knew polite rejection of the menu was necessary. Our bill, with tip, was £42. We couldnât fault the food, the bar and serving staff were lovely, the pub an architectural delight, and fireplaces and dessert menus guaranteeing we return soon!Wow!!! As regular local visitors we arrived at 17:45 (15 minutes before food being served apparently). We ordered drinks collected our own menus and went to sit in the restaurant.18:05 we positioned ourselves at a table awaiting someone to come and take our order. Nobody appeared so my wife went to the bar to order food and another drink. We wanted to order a starter but was told there wasnât any Brie wedges available so we ordered 2 mains. 18:55 we were bought our food, Missing cheese sauce which had been ordered, this turned up 5 minutes later with much of the meal already eaten. Although we were in the restaurant we had to go to the visit the bar to get ourselves drinks. Although short staffed the young Blonde waitress was doing as much as she could to keep up with the bar and food but it was not enough to keep everyone happy. The pregnant waitress disappeared out back for a rest. Very busy for mid week, great food as usual let down by not enough attentive staff.

Lovely friendly place ,booked on line whilst travelling ,food excellant enjoyed the sourced mackerel starter.Good selection of local beers and wines.Belive they try to promote local foods ect.Good service.Belive have accomadation ,great for night stay over before getting tunnel or ferry.Would use.Nice little village.

Came here after returning from Folkestone - we had randomly selected this village to stop off at, as we wanted a drink, plus a driving break, briefly.The outside beer garden is a rustic delight, and the staff were really friendly.Conversation with my work colleague, was, as usual, exhausting - he had heard how myself and three friends had survived a lightning strike a couple of weeks ago, that eyewitnesses said, was directly above us, and heading directly at us, which then split into fork lightning, hitting a Church and a clock tower, causing a huge fire. I suppose life is never dull.He had not been able to join us for lunch earlier, so he ordered Fish and Chips - which looked top quality, indeed, and he confirmed they were exceptionally good.He had a couple of Ales which he said were very good, whilst I stuck with some Cola.This really is a pleasant pub, with a good atmosphere, a warm welcome and relaxing beer garden.Iâd recommend it.

Booked a table here for lunch today and throughly enjoyed it. We had a three course meal with lots to choose from on the menu and specials board.The food was very nice, everything was fresh well presented.The service was excellent, staff very friendly, professional and welcoming from start to finish.Thinking of returning again soon with friends for an evening meal.Thank you once again for a lovely afternoon.

Have been here three times in past few mo the with my wife and children. Always very friendly staff. Great choice of food including vegan options and kitchen has been happy to modify items to make them vegan... they have a beer festival, comedy night and music from time to time. Great place - search it out, support it!!!
