Stopped at this pub on the way home from the boot fair. We found a seat and I ordered a hot sandwich between the two of us,It arrived quite quickly but we were very dissapointed. I asked for brown bead but it came as a baggette. We were not asked if we needed any sauces. The menu said it came with chips and salad, it did! There was very little salad and there were only six chips. My lager shandy tasted like lager flavoured lemonade due to the shortage of lager in it.The price was also high. In all a big disappointment. We wont go back.

We are a traditional pub, restaurant and B&B. We are dog friendly and our own dog Barney is always around to welcome you. Our menu consists of classic pub favourites, homemade using local produce wherever possible and our specials board is updated weekly.
I have taken visiting family here for lunch before so was very much looking forward to another. Unfortunately we waited 1.5 hours for our lunch to come. This was on top of not having our first choice food available. No apology, nothing. Did not even check on us once the food arrived. Not impressed at all. We will not be returning.

The service in this restaurant was really slow taking over 2 hours for two courses. Being a veggie I opted for a veggie starter which came covered in bacon. That went back and a "new" one arrived for me to find out that they had picked the bacon off, leaving some behind. They took this one away saying they would cook a fresh one. The next one arrived and surprise surprise there was still bacon on it and it wasn't very warm for a supposedly freshly cooked starter. The bowls they used for the meals were chipped as well so on the whole a bad dining experience, If it hadn't been for the good company it would have been a complete disaster!

The Spur Inn is a Family run Traditional Country Pub with a separate Restaurant and a Skittle Alley. The pub has open fires and oak beams with a friendly cosy atmosphere. Serving excellent home made pub food. Well known for our Traditional Sunday Roasts.
Iâve been here many times, with large groups (50+), couples and wedding receptions, before this last time, itâs been a few years since a coach party Iâd been with had been asked to leave, because the food service had been appalling and we complained, one of the locals took umbrage and went to thump the guy paying, never experienced anything like it in the previous 5+ years of being with the same coach party. People were getting veg servings with no main dish, main dish with no veg, some were getting main before starters. Let me add that before this every visit had been first class, food, service, for the number of people, the staff did fantastic. Something changed on that visit, staff werenât interested in any way.Visited recently for my Grandsons wedding reception, I donât think I saw one many of staff smile or look interested in their customers, which for a busy pub is terrible. Food was okay it was a BBQ, even the member of staff doing the BBQ looked totally disinterested, and responses to customers wasnât exactly friendly. Would I go back, probably for the food, not for the service without a smile or anything resembling interest. I know itâs a busy place in an ideal location, lovely gardens, but being busy is what you sign up for in a place like that. Iâm not in the blame game, but staff attitudes and customer service standards come from the Landlord, he or she needs to take a long hard look at themselves and make it a place thatâs a pleasure to visit, for someone who isnât a local.

Arundel's very own proper burger restaurant serving burgers, beers, cocktails and shakes.
We went in for an evening snack, having had a generous lunch. The food was interesting, but no real beer: lots of lagers, ales etc, but no beer, that is to say, made using Hops (which to me, defines a beer). They did have one, but it had run out...

Driving frequently to and from Torquay /Cornwall from our Eastbourne home, we have always promised ourselves a stop for lunch at this lovely looking pub ... Today, we did just that.... Left Torquay at 9am,arriving here at 12:40....A warm welcome from the 2 guys behind the bar, and a full menu and special board to choose from. Not wanting pub meals we decided to order a few starters as a tapas style lunch.A Basket of Breads & oil & balsamic, Sussex cheese balls (Omg)... Chipolatas/maple syrup, and salt and pepper chicken... Again (omg). All with dipping sauces. Portions were a lot bigger than our tapas thoughts....I highly recommend all of them as totally delicious.... But the cheese balls & crispy chicken bites were unusual and moreish. Next time I won't be sharing with hubby, I'm having them all to myself... He said the same!! Can't wait to go to this lovely pub again....

The Norfolk Tap is Arundel's only craft beer and coffee bar. After undergoing an extensive renovation, the new bar features a 6-tap wall, where we serve Craft beer from Arundel Brewery and guest beers that change regularly which you can keep up to date wi
Popped by The Norfolk Tap for a bite of lunch; the lady there, Jo, was super helpful and accommodating to us. Her recommendation on the local Silly Moo Cowfold Cider was a tight touch; delicious stuff. Lunch was pretty good too! Very full afterwards. Highly recommended for a chilled and friendly lunch atmosphere

The George & Dragon in Houghton is a busy and beautiful old coaching inn situated in the South Downs National Park. We are a family run pub that is passionate about good food, service and above all ensuring the customer has the best experience possible.
Visited on a Tuesday night to celebrate an anniversary. Pre-booked and was fairly busy. Rib eye steak and ribs for mains were very good and well proportioned. Pudding was stick toffee pudding (exquisite!) and a sussex cheese board - very nice but maybe the cheese needed to relax a little to come to room temperature. Together with a very nice bottle of merlot and service, the bill was £70 which I think is fair value. It was my first visit here in 5 years and it's one that I'll come to again,

Open for Lunch (12-2pm)and Dinner (6.30Pm-9pm) Closed Sunday Evenings and All Day Mondays.
Had Sunday lunch a few weeks ago on the recommendation of friends and it was excellent. Went back with different friends from Bedfordshire to try the regular menu. Not cheap but worth every penny. I had the steak and Guineas pie after a bad steak and ale pie elsewhere ( review queried because the owner falsely accused us of not having eaten there). My wife had the curry, her friend the salmon fish cakes and her friendâs partner the same as me. Desserts were ice cream (me), Banana caramel mess (my wife), her friend had Creme brûlée and the partner sticky toffee pudding. Faultless. The only problem is the small car park but the road is very quiet so you can park off site easily.
