First Italian style tapas ever and it was so incredible. Didnât book so had to wait for a table but was not long considering was a busy Saturday night. All staff very friendly and welcoming and very reasonably prices surprising for the variety of foot available and good portion size. Would definitely recommend and go back if ever visit Chester again!

This traditional Italian restaurant is well worth a visit but you will definitely need to book. We went for dinner on a Monday night in October and the place was packed with a queue of customers waiting to be seated. The atmosphere was lively and service was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome. Lots of choice on the menu and particularly delicious desserts.

Out with friends for a belated birthday dinner. Went to portas across the road first, but there was an hour wait and you're not able to book there. So, a little despondent and hadn't been to Chester for awhile so didn't realise the bluebell was now tapas...lucky! There was only 3 of us and they managed to accommodate us without a reservation. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Particularly enjoyed the pig cheeks (red wine jus was gorgeous) halloumi and green peppers (were just as good as ones I had in Spain few weeks ago!), the rioja was v nice too. Will definitely revisit and probably opt for here over Portas. What a awesome review! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we really do appreciate hearing such wonderful feedback. We are so pleased that you found us and were able to enjoy your Birthday celebrations over our cooked to order tapas and delicious bottle of Rioja. We look forward to having you back with us when you are next in Chester x

Coming to Chester for a weekend away we were very excited to eat at what looked like a rustic sought after Italian restaurant. We phoned during the week to book the Saturday- fully booked so we booked the Sunday instead at 8:30, we thought it was very late but it must be worth it! We were lucky to get parked on the road outside (no car park) and walked into a huge queue. A member of staff said our wait would be 2 minutes. There was no waiting area so we were stood with about 8 people in front of us, and 6 people behind us in the middle of the restaurant (very much in the way). 20 minutes past our booking time we were told it would be 5 minutes ish and offered a free drink- nice of them but our patience was running thin by this point. 10 more minutes passed and we decided enough was enough, there was no sign of anyone finishing their meals anytime soon, plus there was a table of 4 in front of us who hadnât booked and another 4 behind us who had also booked for 8:30. The staff didnât make you feel welcomed instead practically ignored us the whole 30 minutes we were stood there. The noise they make for a birthday is also ridiculous, excruciatingly loud- this happened twice just while we were stood there! It doesnât make for the best atmosphere to dine in. So at 9pm we decided to walk away- very disappointing as we had pre booked and you do not expect to be treated that way when you have booked a table! The food did look lovely but the wait and the way we were treated unfortunately left a sour taste in my mouth, I wouldnât wish to return.

A local taxi driver recommended this place and he was definitely not wrong! Beautiful food, a super gluten free menu as well! The patata bravas was delicious, we had to order 2! The lamb, the meats, the mozzarella - all of it was outstanding! Just left enough room for a small pudding - lovely honeycomb! I genuinely couldn't fault any of it and I would whole heartedly recommended this place!

Enjoying & sharing great food, drink & conversation with family, friends & even strangers (at times) is where we take our influence from. It's how we grew up. Although our roots are firmly in Italian cooking techniques, we love all cuisines & cooking styl

Welcome to the totally refurbished Bollicini, Chesterâs finest Italian Restaurant. Alongside our modern new look, weâve been working in close collaboration with Executive Chef Francesco Gotti, who represents Italy as part of their four-man National Cooker
Myself and my family visited Bollicini during a weekend away in Chester and were immediately greeted by our waiter, Giovanni, who was brilliant with our Son and very attentive with the food. The cannelloni, fussili, lasagne and seafood risotto dishes were fantastic and we will most definitely return here for a meal due to the great atmosphere and friendly staff. If youâre in Chester and fancy a nice Italian, Bollicini is the place to go.

The Yard is a family owned and run Modern Italian Restaurant in the centre of Chester. Brand new for 2015, The Yard combines both style and substance, with food prepared by our head chef, who has previously worked for Gordon Ramsey. We're looking forward
A small restaurant away from the centre with excellent food and friendly staff. We liked it so much we visited twice during our four-day stay. Itâs not expensive and although it might be a bit away from the city centre, weâd recommend you try it. We were staying in City Road so only a few minutesâ walk.

The ideal Italian meal experience. Quality, authentic, traditional recipes served with style in a fine looking environment. We are true and passionate about our flavours and tastes and we commit to deliver a true quality experience for our customers so th
The food was perfection, with a varied and creative authentic menu. It was obvious the whole restaurant was built on the passion of the manager/owner as he talked to every table explaining the connect of the restaurant, the origin of the food, recipes. etc. Unfortunately this passion also made him overbearing on the waiters and other staff. It was clear they felt like they were being watched and criticised at all times and as a result were not very relaxed or comfortable making the atmosphere a little tense. My one bit of advice would be for the manager just to relax a little and trust his staff to do their job, allowing them to relax a little changing the atmosphere and this place would be 10/10 flawless.

We were staying over in Chester for our wedding anniversary and decided to get a taxi in and eat out. Searched TripAdvisor for top locally rated restaurants and decided to try the Istanbul BBQ.We were not disappointed. It was reasonable busy, but we were seated straight away. Friendly staff introduced themselves and the restaurant without that pushy-ness you sometimes get. I felt it was genuine and family ran, caring about their product. We ordered and were soon served our hot starters and shared the joke about lots of bread to go with the hummus but remember you have a main to eat.The mini meatballs were delicious an ideal share with the hummus. The mains we ordered two dishes to share and again not disappointed. Meat was succulent and the home sauce was a combination of three Turkish toppings. I overly and mopped up with the last of the bread. We shared a bottle of lemon water and had three bottles of lager. Total was £56 but feel that was spot on for the food and the service. We left £60 in the little Turkish box the bill came in. Lovely food and great family feel, by the time we left at about 9:30pm ish it was busy which I suppose is another great sign of the place.
