Discover Restaurants offering the best Italian food in York, England, United Kingdom. Just two hours north of London by rail, the city of York holds 1900 years' worth of history in its ancient walls. The Romans built the city in 71 AD, and the Vikings captured it in 866 AD. Stop by the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens for a look at what the Roman and Vikings left behind (they must have packed light when they left). From there, move on to the York Castle Museum for a not-so-quick overview of the most recent 400 years.

Pizza by the slice bar, offering meat, vegetarian and vegan options. Street food style pizza, serving pizza by the Block. Ever changing menu with different toppings with great selection of drinks to accompany. Big Love X
Does not set itself up as anything fancy but excellent Pizza (meat, veggy and vegan - no gluten free options unfortunately). Ice cold Brooklyn lager or soft drinks and really nice relaxed vibe.Worth a visit as Goodramgate is away from the tourist crowds, also great Clash photo wall to look at, definitely worth it for Clash fans

Real and authentic italian food with strong sardinian influence.Good selection of home-made fresh pasta , regional italian dishes, fantastic pizzas cooked in a real wood burn pizza oven .large screen tv featuring all the major european leagues games live.
This restaurant was recommended by the nearby hotel where I was staying. Hotel staff kindly booked a table for me for later that same evening. The restaurant is very small and I noticed people that came in without reservations were being turned away. (so by all means book in advance) The pasta dish I ordered was very good, a plentiful portion served with bread and olive oil. The house red wine was fine with my meal. Price was very reasonable, considering the quality of the food. Service was prompt, staff friendly. If you want Italian food in York this is the place to go. Highly recommend.

We called in on spec early one evening on our way to The Barbican. We didn't have long but the staff assured us we had time to order and consume a meal and still get to the Barbican before 7.30pm. They quickly took and served our order. The food was excellent too.

Our listing for Little Italy restaurant appears to have been removed from the York restaurant listings , can you please ensure we are re listed . Thank you
Our experience on 31 Oct 19 replicates that of sealdriver below, almost exactly; so there appears to be an unwelcome trend developing. This review is therefore intended as a genuine feedback to the management so that this, previously excellent, restaurant doesnât go âdown the panâ on the service level.First, arrived at the head of 3 groups of diners (tables for 2, 4 and 2 respectively) at 1915 for a pre-booked table, in our case, for 1930 - so a little early - and werenât surprised to be told that the table wasnât ready and would we please wait; no worries, expected that. The group of 4 were booked for 1915, their table was ready, and they were ushered straight up. The third couple were also a 1930 booking, so we expected them to be waiting a few minutes with us. Not a bit of it. They were ushered straight up for their table for 2 as well! After a wait, we too were ushered upstairs to our table and seated at a window seat; we were initially pleased about that as we hoped to watch the Halloween activities in the street below! However, it was immediately apparent that there was a very cold draught coming from the window area across our lower extremities; we reluctantly lowered the blind and placed a scarf along the window ledge to try to block the cold. Nonetheless, it was clear that we were going to be chilled during our meal and we asked to move to another table for 2 immediately adjacent, that was now vacant, to get out of the draught. This was readily agreed, and the initial part of dinner proceeded in accordance with our previous experience here. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT; well cooked, tasty, nicely presented.Once the main courses had been cleared, however, we werenât asked if we wanted dessert and try as we might we couldnât get the attention of the waiting staff working our area, it was as if we had become invisible; other diners who had been seated after us were now well into their coffee! Eventually, we got the attention of a waiter working a different section and ordered our desserts; we wouldnât now have time for coffee to meet our transport timetable. As dessert was cleared, we asked for the bill; 15 minutes later still no bill (waiting staff clearing and relaying tables for further, non-existent, diners; restaurant now 2/3 empty). We had no option but to go to the counter to ask for our bill, which hadnât been actioned/totalled. In summation, the food is good/excellent. But the level of customer service was poor. So, thatâs the reason there was no gratuity. This was for our wedding anniversary and the pleasant dining experience was overshadowed by the unsatisfactory level of service that, unfortunately, became the topic of discussion for the rest of the night and took the edge off of what should have been, based on previous experience, a pleasant eveningâs dining. We will go back again, everywhere has an off day; but if it happens againâ¦â¦â¦.

L'uva is a an authentic Italian Wine Bar and restaurant based in the centre of York. Our passion is to serve exclusive Italian wines and fresh Italian food packed full of flavour in an atmosphere that is comfortable, stylish and welcoming. Our menu change
Visited L'uva whilst on a weekend visit to York for my wifes birthday, friendly service throughout, great wine with many being imported specifically for the restaurant. Food is superb, the spaghetti with truffle & creamy cheese sauce is the best I've eaten since a visit to Rome back in 2015, & whilst not the cheapest place to eat the quality of the food certainly makes it worth the money for a special night out.Thank you for the fab review! We look forward to hosting you for your next celebration! Kind Regards,Georgia

Delrio's Restaurant offers home-cooked Italian food with a strong Sardinian influence in a lively environment. Enjoy candle-lit dining in this atmospheric cellar restaurant located adjacent to the historic Micklegate Bar and just a few minutes walk from Y
What a great underground find. The restaurant is downstairs in a cellar, which provides for some great alcoves and a fantastic atmosphere. We didn't have a reservation for a Thursday night visit, but when we turned up a 6pm, they had just opened and managed to squeeze us in. I would recommend a reservation though, as by the time we left at 7.30pm, the place was really busy. Great food and service, what a fantastic place, highly recommended.
