Reviews on Italian food in Southampton, England, United Kingdom. Southwest of London is Southampton (Soton to the locals), a metropolitan area centered around the port. However, tucked away on the side streets are ancient gems such as the Tudor House, Mottisfont Abbey, and "God's House," a museum located in a tower in the medieval wall. The ultra-modern Sea City Museum celebrates Southampton's seafaring past and the RMS Titanic. Looking for nightlife? Travelers can dance the hours away with bars, clubs, and live music, all accessible by public transportation.

An Italian restaurant located in Southampton in West Quays Shopping Centre. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offer a broad range of classic Italian food.
We arrived in Southampton late in the afternoon, and we had skipped lunch so we headed to Carluccioâs for an early dinner. We both had excellent meals with attentive service. I had the chicken saltimbocca which is my favorite item on the menu. My husband had a very tasty lasagna. We cruise out of Southampton often, and we dine at Carluccioâs every time. In fact weâll be going there for dinner tonight, our last night in Southampton.Hi Donnag, it's great to read such a great review about Carluccio's - Southampton! We loved looking after you and hope to see you again next time you visit!

Contemporary Italian and Mediterranean Cuisine served in a relaxed and friendly environment. We specialise in Pizza, Pasta, Fresh Fish and Meat. Our Chef uses only quality and the freshest ingredients to create a varied menu selection to tempt all tastes.
Given all the strong reviews we chose this place for lunch. Unfortunately, typical English food standards are so low that it's hard to know what to make of a good recommendation. The very full menu was promising, the service friendly (if a bit unprofessional), but it was a disappointment from there. For all it's Italian credentials the too-loud Mexican (?) music was bemusing, and the house wine (Merlot, a popular choice, according to the waitress who then told me she didn't like wine) was a let down. Sounding like something original and tasty, I ordered the pumpkin-potato gnocchi with a sage butter sauce, which arrived swimming in over-salted clarified butter (probably 1/2 cup's worth!) flecked with chopped sage. The (tasteless) focaccia arrived after the second request which helped to soak up some of the butter, but I had to leave most of it in the dish or I would have been ill. Luckily I had opted for the started size, accompanied by a mixed green salad which was too simple to get wrong.

We were planning to treat a couple of very special friends to a fine dinner and choose Maxâs as our venue. Iâm pleased to report an impressive and fabulous experience. The food was great. Really enjoyed the portobello appetizer. The monkfish main was very good. We especially enjoyed the attentive, knowledgeable staff and small family cafe ambience. A very comfortable spot. (Small place so reservations highly recommended)

Despite living on Southampton for decades, this was my first visit to Ennio's. Nice venue with smart decor and attentive staff; the menu was very comprehensive with some excellent choices. The food was good quality, well cooked and well presented. Not the cheapest of places and I'm not a fan of the very un-English practice of including Service on the bill, but well recommended.

One of the area's most friendly, and welcoming Italian restaurants, Piccolo Mondo 1 is the oldest in the city, having been established since 1969.Piccolo Mondo is open for lunch and evening meals. With seating for only 34 people, it is small enough to hav
Second visit and excellent again. A "proper" Italian with good atmosphere and traditional feel. Very friendly, accommodating and happy owner and staff. Also friendly customers with great pre-match chat. I was told the restaurant has been here 50 years - testament to a great restaurant. Dessert was excellent ..... a 9-0 win.

ITALIAN RESTAURANT MEETS BISTRO STYLE DINING Soleto is based in the theatre district of Southampton, only a stones throw away from the Mayflower Theatre in Commercial Road. Offering a great selection of Italian and Bistro dishes, Soleto is perfect for any
I went to the restaurant with my partner. We were sat at a table next to a cabinet right to the main restaurant thoroughfare. We asked to move when we were sat there and were told we would be moved. We ordered the Calzone and Pollo Valdostana respectively. The former was a nice dise. The latter was disappointingly small. A very small chicken breast on top of three very small potatoes and hardly any vegetables. The sauce was very nice but I finished this very quickly. For £18, I would expect something more. I was offered a dessert as compensation (chocolate tart) which was really nice but I felt let down given the TripAdvisor reviews.

Popsi's specialises in freshly handcrafted Pizza's baked in a traditional stone built oven. Using the best of British and Italian ingredients we are confident you'll find us the number one pizza place to eat at in Southampton.
I Went to Popiâs With my partner, sister in law, Italians and daughters of a proud former pizzaiolo ;) along with my and 2yo little son last Saturday and I canât say enough about the place, the girls on the floor service are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. The pizza is perfect, light and tasty dough, very nice menu choices, that makes difficult to pick from, delicious. We live in London and every time we go out for a pizza or any other meal thereâs a complaint about something, ALWAYS apart from last Saturday.Thank you all and itâs such a pity you are so far from us.Thatâs amazing! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit! Hopefully we will see you again when you make it out of London next time :)

Our philosophy echoes that of the Italian Bacari - that the simple pleasures are the most important for our health and wellbeing. Good wine, delicious food and the company of friends are the recipe for a life well lived. Relax with us and enjoy a few Chic
To celebrate a friends birthday 12 of us visited for brunch, the restaurant helpfully contacted us in advance and suggested that rather than pre-order which is always tricky to co-ordinate that we let them choose the dishes for us. We were greeted at the door by very friendly staff member and served drinks whilst we waited for everyone to arrive. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed feel and we had 2 round tables together which allowed the conversation to flow. The food was really tasty, they choice a very wide range of dishes for us to try from delicious crispy thin pizza to fish and vegetarian options, every new dish was greeted with delight and clean plates which is always a bonus in a big group trying to please everyone. The wine flowed and our glasses were generously refilled before empty with high quality wine. Overall we were all very impressed and felt we had both had a lovely experience and great value for money.
