I visited with my husband and 2 children. We were really happy with the food, and speed of service. The kids ate off the childrens menu, such good value. We will definitely visit again! Also just wanted to say our waitress Emma, was excellent. Very attentive, polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Thanks!

Four of us went here on a cold Monday night. So glad we booked because lots of people got turned away. It's only a small place and it was buzzing. We all enjoyed our food but they have a problem with the lights, which kept on flickering. It was distracting and eventually gave me a headache. Would return if they sort the lights out!

The food was average at best, but it took 45 minutes to arrive from the kitchen. The staff looked depressed and unmotivated. The worst thing was the toilets though. My friend used them first and warned me that one of them had a broken hand dryer, so I used the other when I had to go only to find no toilet roll! Thank God I had some tissue in my pocket from a runny nose, else I would have been in a thoroughly humiliating situation. At these prices you would expect a lot better. I, for one, shall never return.

We visit the Terranova a few times each year as we live locally. I last reviewed it in 2012 when I said a menu refresh was overdue. It still is!!!That said, food is well presented and good quality. Staff vary in their approachableness (occasionally a bit grumpy).Only real criticism would be that starters seem to arrive almost before the order gets taken to the kitchen!! A few minutes between ordering and eating would be nice - has happened on every visit!!! We don't want fast food!!!

La Cosa Nostra in St Albans is a short walk from the main train station or the town centre. Parking nearby is an issue.Very basic tables inside but small and cosy with a nice atmosphere.Friendly service and the fresh cooked food- you can see the chef at work, was very tasty.A pleasant first time and good prices for the area. would def return.

Visited Prezzo at the Galleria at 5.30pm on a Monday evening. We were six adults and three children under five so we deliberately chose to come at a quiet time. There were only around eight other people in the restaurant so the staff certainly were not rushed off their feet. We asked for the childrenâs meals to come first but they brought out our starters and it was at least 30minutes before the childrenâs meals arrived. Then weâre asked if we could order our mains and the waitress nodded but didnâtcome to our table. Instead she stood behind the bar chatting to a friend. Once the children had finished we asked to speak to the manager but were told that she was busy out the back doing orders? Eventually we were so frustrated that one of us when around the back and found her. We told her about our complaint but she seemed indifferent and without any authority. We left and did not pay for our drinks or consumed food.Not only did this episode spoil our evening but we all felt so sad that a restaurant that we used to love has gone completely downhill due to the appalling customer service. We not be back again.

Everything we ate this evening was delicious. As a vegetarian, I sometimes struggle to find anything I would want to eat but here there was choice. I had bruschetta, melanzane parmigiana, pumpkin and ricotta tortelloni and a panna cotta all perfectly cooked and super tasty. I spent two weeks in Italy over the summer and can confidently say this is the best Italian food I have eaten all year.

Came in it was freezing cold. A.C ran through my joints. Got my pizza and they didnt even cut it, had no pizza cutter. Tasted like it was bought from Iceland. Chicken wrap was tasteless. Will not be coming back in a hurry

My family and I had great concerns when Bar Espresso moved to DavVero The Quadrant Street St Albans in February of this year. We felt the move to larger premises might diminish the wonderful family atmosphere and greater demand might cause the standard of their superb food to slip. Not a bit of it! DavVero is an outstanding gastronomic delight. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. My family and I dine there at least once a week. I recommend the Cozze alla Marinara and Focaccia. For mains the pasta is outstanding and the staff will always provide a childrens' portion as a starter, or if you are not that hungry. I particularly recommend the Carbonara and Ca Sosizza. My own particular favourite main is the calves liver. The pizzas are lovely and again chidrens' sizes are available. For dessert the Tartuffo Limoncello and Homemade Tiruaisu will send you into a very tasty orbit! The wine list is comprehensive and the wines are reasonably priced. Families are welcome and highchairs are available. The beauty of this restaurant is you can eat cheaply or really have an expensive blow out! There is a terrific bustling "Italian" atmosphere and you can really imagine you are in Sicily itself in a restaurant in Taormina, Cefalu or Agrigento. However, such is this restaurant's popularity I would urge you to book well in advance. Enjoy ! Cecilia & Steve.

We had a lovely evening there. There was a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes, very reasonably priced. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service and atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend it and will come again.
