Called into this restaurant on a monday night and restaurant was so quiet we thought they would be closing early but the staff were brilliant and shown us our table. Menu has plenty of choice so we ordered starters and mains. Had the panir tikka shaslick which to be fair was good but for six quid could have had more paneer. My main the Nawabi lamb more than made up for this with the lamb absolutely perfect. Will definitely be back when working in Wigan. Thanks to all at the Raj Gate for great food

Award wininig south indian home style food / bar/ restaurant / takeaway service/
The staff here are so well clued up on their menu they know which dishes can be altered to the customerâs requirements and will discuss any ingredients that can or cannot be added. Very professional and smartly dressed giving an air of a first class restaurant with affordable prices. The bar and seating area is conducive to a friendly drink before and after eating an all round great place for a good night out.

Arriving here I didn't have much confidence to he honest. It has a broken sign above the window and the decor isn't as good as many others in town. However I was greatly surprised. The food was fantastic. Best onion bhaji I've had. Everything I had was light, not overly greasy and fresh tasting. The staff were super friendly.I've been to other restaurants in town, Raj, India Lounge, Bindi, this one beats them all. Will be back for a repeat visit.

Would definitely recommend. Me and my husband have been looking for a good Indian that delivers for a while and I can honestly say weâve found a gem here. It arrived earlier than expected. The staff were so helpful and friendly: both over the phone and delivery. It was packed so well and we were given poppadoms free. Chicken tikka main was beautiful and my husband was extremely happy with his curry. We will definitely be ordering again and visit the restaurant. Thank you Fire and Spice! Amazing

Exquisite indian cuisine. We are full lecensed and sell banglashi and indian food
I ate here tonight whilst away on business. I started with poppadoms and the pickle tray. Surprised that lime pickle was 70p extra. I had chicken chaat puree as a starter. Good flavour, puree bread fine. Only shame was the small amount of chaat. I had Chicken Samber, plain nan and Channa Sag side dish. Everything well balanced, good heat from the Samber without being overpowering. Good sized portions too. Service slow throughout but friendly. Overall very impressed. However, restaurant let down by poor toilets. Mould over the ceiling and cistern and floor messy. Easy to fix so hope it will be and soon.

This is an e- mail sent to Babar Elephant on Saturday 31/8/19 - WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR A REPLY.!!!!Dear sir/madamMy partners and I have just walked out of the Babar elephant in Billinge I booked a table for two earlier in the week for 7.30 pmWe arrived at 7.20 there were a number of people 8 in fact queuing at the door waiting. We were spoken too quickly and told it might be about 10 minutes wait This was fine as it would mean we would be sat down about 7.35. At 7.45 still waiting in the draughty entrance we were invited over to the bar for a drink which we had to pay for I may add. Still no movement when a couple who apparently are very regular and in front of us and had not booked were offered a table at just after 2000 hrs this added to the insult The maitre de spoke to us and said if you donât have a long wait on a Saturday night then the restaurant is not doing its job properly. I took that to mean he was prepared for us to wait and tough. Not even a complimentary drink was offered at 20.08 we left. I await your reply prior to my launching what I think on social media. We have been to the babar on numerous occasions and I think this may well be the last. We have never been so poorly treated at a restaurant before. It seems that because it is so busy you do not need to worry about the customerI await your replyDear sir / madam really sorry for what has happened . Can you please email me [email protected] kind regards Aftab Ali

Went to attend a wedding in Blackburn and had dinner in this restaurant while staying in Chorley. Smell of food make you more hungry even you are outside. Food was good of taste with affordable prices but service was not up to mark, may be due to busy time but that can't be an excuse from professionals.Dear FAnsari,Thank you for taking your time out to write us a review. We are pleased to hear that you have had an enjoyed the food, and we are sorry if you have experienced any issues on this visit. We will make sure that we improve and make your experience more enjoyable on your next visits. Thanks again for visiting us and we hope to see you again soon.

We recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for a decent Indian. We are now looking no further. The food is exceptional, the staff are super friendly and always offer some extra info on the dishes. The waiter recommended my meal tonight and I now have a new favourite. We use this place to eat in and for takeaways.
