Whilst the service could do with a bit more focus, we couldnât fault the quality of each dish here or the cost - absolute value for money. Brilliant, really tasty food - just sort out the service.

Really don't know why I've not reviewed this cafe/restaurant before! We've eaten here often and without question, the food is always exceptional. Everything is homemade, home marinated and cooked to order. We absolutely love the chicken tikka or lamb tikka sizzling dishes which comes with a lovely fresh salad as standard and about £6 per dish! Sometimes we have the mixed grill, which includes both chicken and lamb tikka along with kebabs, lamb chops and chicken wings - huge dish and so tasty- also with fresh salad - we also end up having to take some home! (The mixed grill is about £18). The dhals and curries are delicious - always slightly different as they are home cooked too. The whole rotisserie chickens are cooked to perfection- some with piri piri seasoning- we've often had one as a takeaway. This place is quite often packed with diners for the simple reason that it's fantastically authentic and prices are amazing! The staff here are very friendly, and even though it's more 'cafe' in style, it's still table service. The grills are very healthy and even when watching our weight, will still pop in here and have the tikka kebabs with salad. Just turn up - no booking required!

This visit was for three adults on a busy Friday evening. Parking was available at the front of the building. There was a large party in the rear area and we were found a quiet table at the front, and we were able to look into the kitchen. We found the whole experience excellent. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. The food was very tasty, not your usual, 'base sauce with extras thrown in'. We could watch it all being cooked fresh. My wife's king prawns were slightly undercooked, but this was quickly rectified with apologies (however, lost one 'star'). The chicken dishes were perfect, as were the vegetables.Good selection of drinks. We will certainly put this on the 'go again' list.Dear Richard, Thank you for your detailed review, we value your feedback :-) Apologies again for the undercooked prawns and we have noted this down to ensure it does not happen again. We are glad that you enjoyed the food and look forward to seeing you again soon :-) Please kindly take the time to download our 'MC Group' app from the app store to sign up for loyalty benefits & discounts to use at all of our venues. We ordered a takeaway (for collection) for a large family party.Value - pretty good. It was a large order so we were given a complimentary bottle of wine and some poppadoms/ chutneys. A nice touch.Food - mixed reviews. Some were very tasty (dishes that came in sauces) some were a bit dry (the Balti dishes - I think, comes with rice). We've eaten in the restaurant before and the food has been much better; probably a bit of an off day.I would eat a takeaway again but would stick to the dishes with sauce.

Watfords Saffron is a popular and sophisticated Indian restaurant serving unusual regional dishes alongside classic curries and just a ten minute walk from the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour. The Not so traditional interior, with crisp white tab
My sister ordered takeaway for the family when I visited England. The food was probably the worst Indian food I have ever eaten anywhere.Ordered chicken tikka starter, it had not been cooked on a skewer in a clay oven, just plain grilled chicken in a thin watery gravy.Main course curry's were terrible, no spice at all, very little meat, mainly potatoes that were undercooked.Firstly appologies for any misunderstandings you may of had with this particular order, i hope you had a safe journey back home,At saffron we thrive to serve best quality freshly cooked dishes, we can assure you all our tandoori dishes are cooked in the clay oven and we do use skewer (the hole through the meat is evidence) at Saffron we mostly concentrate on our dine in clients but we do take a lot of attention to our takeaway clients too, the only reason you would have seen any moisture in the chicken tikka would be because it is cooked freshly and put into a container immediately for your takeaway needs, sadly during this times moisture can build up inside the containers because piping hot food was put there, we do appreciate your review and we are very hopeful other readers who read this will find all the information helpful to understand why the do it is not 100% what you expect on hot takeaway orders.

Indian restaurant and takeaway
Had a takeaway from here and I have to say it was probably the best curry Iâve had. I live behind the Indian sizzler and new shapla but the spice lounge knocks the socks off them.

It's happened againOrdered a meal for collection - doublechecked before ordering that they were still offering the discount. On collecting food and paying, discovered that they had increased prices again, they had lowered discount for collection from 15% to 10% and again the bill did not add up. As I had checked cost whilst on the phone, I complained and was told that I could get £1.50 off next meal. Food - poor - frozen veg reheated eg cauliflowerSorry. Not this time. Will not be returning to collect my change (esp as you didn't honour the last promise either). Instead you get this review. Will now switch custom to another restaurant.
