Visited Dixy last Friday instead of our local Chippy to take advantage of a flyer they had posted through the door, I must admit that normally when the girl is in who has been there since the takeaway opened in the 90's and stayed under various owners and names the service is spot on, unfortunatley on my last visit she was not in and 2 new girls were serving with one it seemed to be her first day, after a little confusion they were able to recognise the offer I wanted and I asked if I could add some wings to the order, when I got home I found that the wings were missing and although the food supplied was good couldnt help thinking I wished I'd stuck to the Chippy, while the new girls get to grip with supplying all you order I would say double check your order before setting off home only to be dissapointed

Had the prawns in garlic and chilli. Very bland. Like gravy with a chopped chilli and then bulked out with capsicum and onions. Prawns were overdone and chewy. My wife's order was less impressive, her chips were rank.

Sista Calypso serving authentic Caribbean food. Jerk chicken. Curried goat/mutton. Also new for Darwen the mighty reggae box. Eat in or takeaway.
I love this place. Yes, it looks a little like a greasy spoon, but that's definitely part of the charm. This is definitely a cafe, not a restaurant. The food is uncompromisingly good and pretty well authentic. Nothing I've had here isn't good. I'm seriously in love with the coconutty coleslaw and the big, thick Jamacian dumplings they do here. One thing to note, the Reggae box they offer is ridiculously huge. Me and a friend got one as a take away, and we had to call someone else to come over to help us finish it (and none of use are small eaters). It's definitely one of my go-to places in town, for lunch or even as a stop on a night out.
Looked on trip advisor got good reports so decided to get a chippy tea. I wish sometimes I could get nice chips big chips . Not hard split your gum chips . Crunchy chips . Sausage was undercooked and the gravy was tasteless help me find a good chippy please friar ruggs prob best at moment
The chip portions are so large that one person could rarely finish them. The batter on the fish is really light and crispy. Opens seven day so you can always get served. The Chinese range is very extensive and cooked to order. Not had a bad one yet

This is a takeaway place. Until recently believed that they didnât offer deliveries and so never used. Having heard that they now offered delivery I rang up and yes that was fine. Pizzas were delivered within half an hour (early on a Friday evening) and were delicious - best I have tasted within local vicinity. The prices though are quite high relative to other places.

Had takeaways delivered from here twice recently. Food is very good. Meat samosas and seekh kebab were excellent. King prawn dansak (asked for it hot) and chicken tikka madras (asked for as medium) were both very tasty cooked to the requested heat. Even though the restaurant is 10 minutes away from us, the food was delivered within 30 minutes. We will be having another very soon.....
