This is a beautiful pub, offering superb food and fantastic service for a very fair price. Went at the weekend for a birthday meal and all of us were very impressed. Three courses for £25 with a lovely selection of starters. I had pakora and would have that again. We all had a roast for main, loads of veg and the beef was cooked to perfection. Desserts were delicious, with plenty of tasty options. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, which made the visit all the more enjoyable. Cannot wait to go back! Dear Judge21uk,Thank you very much for your comments. We are very proud of our Sunday roast, using the finest local ingredients and I'm really pleased that you enjoyed it.We look forward to seeing you again soon. All the bestJemima

Ararat is a traditional Turkish restaurant which is located in Ipswich town on Norwich Road. We will be introducing you to delicious Turkish dishes.
Nothing was actually nasty, portions were generous, but tasteless. I love Turkish food but I could never have guessed it was Turkish, it was a huge disappointment. It was a Friday night and we were the only customers- I can see why! Only the pitta bread, the coffee, and the waitress were good. I had a Groupon voucher for '£73.00 worth, two course dinner for four': the fish dish photograph looked particularly good. However, instead of the menu we were offered a small plastic card labelled '2 COURSES FOR £12.99' with a choice of dishes cheaply made from about four types of vegetable and chicken or mince. I said I would have the fish on the voucher, but was told first they did not have it, then that it would cost £5.00 extra.I felt particularly sorry for the very nice waitress, who had to deal with my indignation, it was only her second night in the job, but the manager would not emerge to talk to me, only sent messages by her.I suppose that the moral is, don't trust Groupon, but I did check the reviews here, it seems they went to a quite different place to me: this is the first time I have not enjoyed Turkish food. I had invited friends and was mortified.we are sorry that you are unsatisfied on your visit. i am the manager which you mentioned on your review and i am terrible sorry to not emerge your table but reason of this i was cooking and on that time i was very busy with takeaway orders and we have a party upstairs.groupon deal on discription you can see which menu you can eat and that menu hasnt got any fish. we are happy to serve but groupon find it to expensive so they only choose that menu for groupon deal to make it cheap. unfortunatly in this case we couldnt serve you the fish. i havent heard what you spoke with my college but we have fish all the time and its clearly not including the deal. i will be really appreciated if you reconsider your review .as you can see from other review , we really care our customers and we want everyone left happy. again i do apoligies for your bad experience but please understand that we are happy to serve everyone and we always try to do our best for each customer .

My wife and I were looking for a decent restaurant for our Saturday evening meal during our 3 day visit to the area and this one appealed to us. Very good food.excellent choice of desserts a good selection of wines, including some very decent Turkish ones.We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service was great too.

We ate here as a group of 3 and were warmly greeted and seated. This is a small restaurant therefore advanced booking is advisable, especially for larger groups. We were seated downstairs near a coffee grinder, but on the two occasions that it was used, staff apologised for the noise when they had to use it in short bursts. The menu is relatively compact, and priced towards the top end of the scale, but is all freshly cooked to order in the open kitchen area downstairs and we felt it provided value for money.Service was prompt, attentive and very friendly throughout our visit - nothing was too much trouble. We wouldn't hesitate to book and eat here again.

Tried to get into the other larger restaurants along the Quay at 18:15 on a Saturday night saying that we had no booking and we'd be gone in time for their 19:30 covers but couldn't get in (even though both were empty). Tried this place as the last resort, but thinking that as it's a bit smaller we'd be eating at McDonald's instead, but the owner who greeted us at the door found a table for us, slotting us in amongst her other bookings, without any trouble (although other walk-ins were turned away soon after we got there). The food and service was fantastic and I'm really glad we went. They're flexible with their menus (you can mix the fixed price and a la carte menus) and the price was really good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. It would be our first choice next time.

Booked a table for a family lunch - we arrived on time, we were very welcomed by the Ottoman Team. Had a mix starter plate and meze called PASHA - loving it, very tasty. We also ordered Chicken wings and Sizzling Lamb Chops as our main meals, so delicious - strongly recommended, outstanding service, definitely come back !!

Within easy walking distance of the town centre, Ipswich's most original restaurant, Mariners 1900, is an antique Dutch customs gunboat, moored along Neptune Quay. You can enjoy wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy an evening on the sea front wit
My husband and I booked Mariners for last Friday evening whilst we were staying at The Salthouse Harbour hotel. The greeting from Karine was warm and friendly and the service throughout the meal really good. Karine recommended a good bottle of wine to go with our meal which was of excellent quality and amazing value.
