Since visiting Winchester this place has popped up! I love my coffee so seemed worth a try! Brunch options are not average at all in my opinion, the food looks appetising and tastes great. Love the variety even though the menu isn't huge which I also like. The staff were friendly, liked the chap at the coffee machine, clearly loves his job. On look the coffee has some amazing latte art. But the coffee taste was a tad average! Bit on the bland side. I have had better. My friend had a tea and was an enjoyable experience. My one question... How long does it take to clean those dried flowers???!!!!

The Cathedral Refectory is one of Winchesterâs hidden gems, sheltered behind an ancient flint wall opposite the Cathedral. Its award-winning contemporary design, large terrace with Cathedral views and pretty walled garden make it a great place to meet fri
The cathedral cafeteria is located in a separate building nearby. The building itself is airy and inviting, with both a courtyard and a garden. Service is friendly and efficient, portions ample and the food is good. We had toasties and salad before visiting the Cathedral, then went back afterwards for coffee and cake which were also very good. (Free iced water was much appreciated too.)Dear ajwyld, Thank for taking the time to comment. We are delighted to hear your positive comments about our dedicated team! We hope to see you again to try some of the other delicious items on our lunch menu, served between 12pm and 2.30pm everyday! The Refectory Team

I love having a salad lunch here, very original and tasty salads. We are not talking lettuce and tomato, we are talking of much more substantial salads that include roast veg/potato/beets/green beans/nuts, all with nice dressings. The salads seem to be different every day, not had one I did not like yet.Wish they had a recipe book/page! idea? The cafe is clean and spacious and the salads are made freshly every day.good wifi too!

We decided to visit this place as the reviews were good and it's website made it seem great. I'm pretty sure it tops my list of restaurant disasters. The menu was uninspiring and limited and it turned out that there were three dishes unavailable. So my mother and I decided to have the fresh stuffed pasta with capers. We got gnocchi with a not very nice tomato sauce and no capers. It was basically inedible. The rest of the family had hamburgers with industrial bread and frozen chips. The service was not great either. We had to take our own drinks from the fridge and then waited almost 10 minutes to get the glasses (they were in the dishwasher). The staff were young and inexperienced. They reimbursed us for the pasta/gnocchi when I complained. I felt sorry for them but the management has to take steps to sort this place out before it goes out of business.

An independent, family run, traditional tearoom that serves from breakfast to tea time. The kind of food you remember as a child. A full English breakfast, a door step sandwich on freshly made bread, a home cooked lunch... but most importantly the cakes -
Called in today for lunch with my daughter. My daughter ordered cake, it was stale and had three layers of buttercream, which made is very sickly. When she asked the waitress what cakes were available, the waitress had to go and ask someone else. I ordered baked potato with cheese and coleslaw. No coleslaw so asked for cheese and lots of butter. Had a very small portion of cheese on the potato and politely asked for a little more. The chef then said that's the amount I normally put on baked potatoes!!! Reluctantly he took my plate away and gave me a little more cheese. Definitely not worth what we paid. Don't think we will be going gack

After a great tour around Winchester it was time for a light bite. Sitting outside this good Italian restaurant we were well served by attentive waiters. Pasta Amatriciana for me was superb and my wife enjoyed her smoked salmon salad. San Giovese red wine was very drinkable. Worth a look.
