We found this lovely cafe after being refused lunch at St. Mary's Church cafe because we had our dog with us. The welcome we received at Off the Square was fantastic. We both had bacon sandwiches for lunch and they were delicious. One of the ladies also brought treats for our dog. I've had lunch here a couple of times with friends and my husband, and this restaurant ticks all the boxes for us. The food is delicious and wholesome, with plenty of vegan options and a great variety of freshly prepared salads to accompany your main choice. If you are lucky you will nab a table by the window and enjoy a view of the activlty below on the high street. And if not, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the ambience. You choose your dish from a blackboard menu, pay, then there is a short wait before the food is brought to the table you have selected. The staff are friendly and helpful and prices are reasonable. They also do breakfasts and a good selection of drinks; my husband had a freshly prepared carrot, ginger and apple juice which disappeared very quickly!

Great little cafe in Shrewsbury Town Centre with an outside terrace offering extraordinary views. Serving fresh homemade food at decent prices. Visit our website for full details. We also have a completely separate area with toys and books for pre school
Visited for a lovely Saturday afternoon lunch - was a delightful experience. The surroundings and atmosphere are delightful. Amazing service and the food was excellent. The cakes looked yummy, a taste and sample of these will be made on our next visit. Hopefully next time the weather will be nice enough to use the outsie seating area. Worth a visit for all.

Wandering around Shrewsbury looking for somewhere to have lunch, we chanced on St Maryâs, with a lovely little cafe located in the back of the church. Good selection of sandwiches, cold platters etc, plus soup (the neighbouring table had this and the portions of bread were very generous!) we chose roast beef with mustard mayo and rocket which was delicious, served on fresh crusty bread. We also had very good coffees. Cakes looked nice too, but big portions so no room!

Garlic bread was good but thatâs where it stops.Tapas was served in cold dishes so very quickly became cold. We were brought out 1 dish at a time so had finished some before last one had come out.Calamari were tasteless rubber so we only ate 1 each.Patatas bravas with a very little drizzle of sauce just a great big squeeze of garlic mayo that seems to be put on everything.chicken that tasted just like a chicken stock cube and nothing else. All the food was very salty. Maybe a ploy to get you to buy more drinks?? Although that would require the staff to ask so maybe not.We were never asked if the food was ok whilst we were eating or at time of paying and from what was left it clearly wasnât but never given the chance to say.Over priced food of terrible quality. Worst tapas I have ever eaten!! We wonât be returning and wonât be recommending to anyone. So sorry you had a bad experience with us. Had you let us know at the time we could have rectified the situation. Thankyou for the constructive criticism.....enjoy where you eat in future.

A beautiful, secret garden nestled on the banks of the River Severn within walking distance of Shrewsbury Bus & Train Stations, serving breakfast, lunches, snacks and traditional afternoon teas
we arrived by Kayak, after 2 days on the river, to what appears to be a rather nice riverside cafe. The place give you the feling is run by an artistic, unconventional older lady - who serves wondefull food.We ordered drinks. The 2 teenage boys went for choculate mllkshake, both said it was the worst milkshake they have ever tied. I went for blackcurrant cordial, 2 quid for wharm red tastelss water. We went back to the Kayaks, dipped our lifestraws in the river and had a nicer drink. What a terrible dissapointment.I do wish you had talked to us at the time, rather than venting your anger on this platform, my mother always said, " If you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all " Just sayin
