Popped in for some quick lunch with our toddler after a visit to Rudyard Railway. The cafe was clean, well maintained and very welcoming. Can often be a stressful experience when managing a free spirited toddler - but they were very much at ease dealing with him. My wife also has a nut allergy and they were very good with that. Not that we frequent Leek often; but if we are back we would definitely see if they had a table free!

I really liked No.5. They offer both meat and vegetarian options. Their deluxe hot chocolate is out of this world! The cafe itself is quite small, and they did seem to run out of food quite quickly. Seems like a place to visit just as lunch time starts as there are more food options! I will definitely visit again!

Cosy cafe with its own bakery.Making pies and cakes and selling them to eat in or take away..90 years in business,a taste of tradition.
visited this cafe for first time don't know what all the fuss is about i feel the pies are small which not a lot of meat the chips seemed to be reheated in microwave not fresh although the pie was fresh and this shop is traditional give me a pukka pie any day also a small mug of tea for £1 25 overall not good value in my opinion .while sat at table noticed one of the staff while preparing to put gravy or peas on plate moving pie with bare hands not very hygienic needles to say i won't use againThank -you for your response. At the moment we are struggling to get our normal potatoes due to the shortages,I can assure we do not reheat in a microwave but have now sourced some better potatoes so are chips are back to normal. As regards sizes of pies and mugs ,I think this is all down to appetites, some are larger than others and we cater for the norm.I cannot comment on the pie handling but all our staff are hygiene aware.

With stunning views, this tearoom could be spectacular in both location and quality. Unfortunately, today it let itself down. Dirty, uncleaned tables, wasps everywhere crawling over the tables, and poor quality food. My ham sandwich was bone dry, not even an offer of any butter, and the teaspoon of coleslaw it came with was somewhat insufficient. My wifeâs scone was likewise, stone dry. The canned drinks were not chilled, which was very disappointing on this hot Saturday. So overall we spent half an hour with warm drinks, dry food, and being pestered by wasps. Maybe itâs better when itâs not so busy, and as I say the location is wonderful, but itâs not somewhere we would return to. Shame.

We stopped in Biddulph with our 15wk Zuchon, Tilly. We stopped off at Leek on our way home. We knew that The Market Kitchen was dog friendly so decided to go there for some breakfast. So kind. They said "Hello, How are you?" soon as we walked in and loved Tilly. They even took a photo to pin up on the board - I wanna see it. Ha.We got some breakfast. I ordered Scrambled Eggs and Salmon on Muffin! Top top marks. Delicious and totally hit the spot. Gemma ordered a breakfast bap, Bacon and Egg which I have on good information was more than just a standard bap and tasted "Hard to describe, but, really nice"

The Cottage Kitchen believes in celebrating all that the Staffordshire Moorlands has to offer. We have developed our menu alongside suppliers and producers who share our passion for locally produced, seasonal artisan foods.
Lovely place, with a gorgeous view even on a rainy day. There's a great little shop with the excellent cottage delight range on sale along with some local produce from nearby villages. The waitresses were very friendly efficient and polite. The coffee was hot and good quality. One out of 5? We both had fish (I had the fish finger sandwich, Mr had the beer battered fish) and neither one of us could either taste the fish or decide what kind of fish it was supposed to be - I honestly assumed my "homemade fish finger" sandwich was cheap ready breaded flat fish bought in bulk frozen. Mr's fish was tasteless and pale - he described the flavour as watery, (the chips were also very pale, although were properly cooked) and looked unappetising. It's sad because every other detail was spot on, like i said the staff were great, the surroundings were great, the restaurant is clean and lovely touches like the ownbrand cottage delight condiments served with food. But the food itself was one massive disappointment and the very worst fish meal either of us have ever had. Overall, feeling extremely ripped off and wouldn't eat here again. Would go back though for the shop and the coffee.Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are extremely disappointed that you did not enjoy your fish, we buy our fish in fresh and we always use cod. We are extremely sorry that it was not up to our usual standards and we will be in touch with our fish mongers. Thank you for your lovely feedback about the waitresses. We do hope to see you again. Regards Joanne

Spout Brew House is an independently owned cafe serving freshly ground Has Bean Coffee, J Atkinsons Tea and delicious homemade cakes. Wholesome homemade food available Tuesday to Saturday. We also offer a range of vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten
Lovely quirky place with a great selection of craft and bottled beers. We visited as part of a pub crawl around Leek although didn't have food so can't comment on that. It's definitely a great place for a drink though and we found ourselves sat in two armchairs in a little room at the back. Loved the Magnificent Multitude Of Beer poster! Will definitely be back!glad you enjoyed the beers and our "Snug" room, look forward to seeing you again soon, hopefully you'll have chance to try our food and cake alongside the beers and try out the "Dog House" room on the next tripMany thanksLisa
