I'm not going to tear this café to pieces. In light of the fact that it was apparent that trade appears to be steady, it wouldn't be fair. But I can only write what I see, and I saw a tired establishment with battered seating, dog-eared menus (someone else's - we never got one), and a doorway that is an accident waiting to happen. It took more than twenty-five minutes and two polite reminders before a somewhat surly waitress came to take our order and to be frank the food was nothing to write home about.I'm guessing that French's has been around a while and has a loyal customer-base, particularly among senior citizens, and this may explain why prices seem a bit on the cheap side. Maybe that works for them but if it were me, I would hike the prices a little, invest in some paint, new furniture and menus and maybe use a bit of imagination in the kitchen.

A quaint vintage style tearoom, specialising in private hire and events only, situated on our family farm in a semi rural location, surrounded by country parks and fishing lakes with free parking on site. Perfect for baby showers, birthdays or any celebra
Tasty toasted sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and plenty of nice cakes. Parking on site and good prices. Comfy seating and nice decorations. Afternoon was an option on the menu but needed to enjoy booked in advance. We heard tables needed could be reserved too as the place gets busy. Some of the cutlery wasnât as clean as would be preferential.

At Bunno we enjoy making our pasta every day and roasting our carefully selected coffee beans. You can enjoy them at our restaurant or take it away with you
Old Street, Shoreditch, Southwark and Covent Garden all have pasta bars par excellence. Itâs surprising indeed to announce that Romford now joins that list in the shape of The Bunno in South Street which describes itself as âYour Local Coffee Roasters and Fresh Pasta Makersâ. Well one afternoon a few months ago I tried the coffee and a tiramisu in a plastic pot, so finding myself in Romford at lunchtime popped in to try the pasta. Although the rear is laid out as a restaurant, one must order and pay at the counter where there is a display of pizza slices, muffins and pastries. There are five or so types of pastas which come with a choice of topping. I opted instead for one of the three filled pastas of the day a tortellini filled by minced pork rib in a thick tomato sauce. Accompanied by a glass of Chianti this proved a deeply satisfying dish.

We have worked our way through the breakfast menu now and every dish has been fantastic and very reasonable in price. The traditional english breakfast cannot be faulted and the more adventurous options are well worth a try such as the mackerel and the avocado on toast and eggs benedict .... All Yummy. Staff are delightful.
