A very fancy range of interesting imported beers. I wasn't quite brave enough to go for the 10% alcohol dark beer. Cheapest pint is over a fiver. Nice decor just a bit noisy for conversations as the tiled ceiling bounces sounds back.

Went here after work for drinks on a Friday evening. Staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a great atmosphere. We liked the outside terrace with plenty of seating and some welcome heaters. Will come again.

We enjoyed a meal on a Friday evening. We tried 4 different dishes and they were all delicious and perfectly prepared. Our waitress, Lucy, was friendly and attentive and provided helpful guidance on dishes to try. The setting is lovely with modern decor inside and a lovely garden seating area. Definitely recommend this pub.

Great atmosphere and setting right next to the river and opposite the castle. The decor was very tasteful with stunning artwork on the walls.Excellent drinks menu with in-house special cocktails which were delicious and priced reasonably.Quite a small menu, but still had a problem deciding as they all sounded very nice. Portions werenât overly big, but the taste made up for the quantity and the side dishes complemented well. The dessert choice again was difficult, but the pineapple and coconut won for me , and my husband had the chocolate fondant, both were truly delightful. They have just won an award which Iâm sure wonât be the last. Well done to you all. We will definitely return.

Very disappointed with todayâs visit! 6 adults and 4 children traveled 45/60 minutes for a family get together and family members birthday. This place was recommended by a friend. First impressions, lovely pub, busy, great selection of beers. Got seated and ordered our food, we asked for our starters to come out with the childrenâs meals. Half the childrenâs food forgotten about and had to wait for it, the nachos were disgusting. We had complained but the response from the young waitress was to offer some sauce!! After an hour of waiting for our mains, I asked three members of staff to chase up our mains! One waitress started clearing the compliments that i helped myself to in advance. I did say weâre waiting for our dinner! she didnât seemed bothered. When the roast dinners arrived they were old, cold and warmed up with gravy. The potatoes and pork were terrible and inedible. The chicken and the beef on the roasts were good and the fish and chips were nice. The service needs fast improvement! Donât have a large restaurant if you canât resource it when full! Unfortunately the younger staff didnât have a clue about hospitality or know how to serve the customers. Training for them is required or replace them with experienced staff. We did receive an apology and a discount to our bill, but we left unhappy that our experience had ruined our afternoon and our childâs birthday.

Come here very regularly for our roasts, which are normally top notch & cannot be beaten..anywhere....but today, not so....something off key here...Roasts presented, then had to wait almost 10 minutes for our veg (asked waitresses twice)in which time our dinners had lost their heat....only to then be given a bowl full of green, just green.....complained, only to be told, âthere are no carrots In the buildingâ and âcauliflower is too expensive at the momentâ....!!!...bizarre...apparently this is their âsummer vegâ....having visited for over 10 years & experienced the summer & winter veg, I am well aware it changes, however, a mound of broccoli & 6 mange-tout, doesnât constitute mixed veg...just a sea of green...very disappointing..We had also ordered a side of creamed peas with bacon...bacon very fatty, not normal standard, very unappetising...So disappointed didnât even stay for pudding which is a first...wanted to just go....Whatever it is you normally do, please just bring it back...:such a shame...Hi MikeDubs2010,I spoke to you at the time and therefore very disappointed that you have felt the need to post a review. Seasonal vegetables at the best price are what we do, and I am sorry that your favourite veg was unavailable at the time due to issues with quality, seasonal availability and cost. Where to eat Bar food in Tonbridge: The Best Restaurants and Bars

a 16th century pub/restaurant offering honest, freshly cooked lunch and dinner. Restaurant closed Sun and Monday evenings. Gluten free and vegan options available. Dogs welcome in the bar and attractive garden. 4 real ales on tap.
We ate here a couple of weeks ago and very pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and portions, the ham was particularly delicious on that occasion and plentiful. Sadly that was not replicated today, ham was grisly and mean in amount. One waitress seemed to be doing everything in busy pub, doing a good job but it meant everything felt rushed and no time for niceties. Hadn't previously noted automatic 10% service charge unusual in pub like this and something that grates, sadly won't rush back unless walking in this area and maybe just a drink

Beautiful Kentish country pub, privately owned by Richard and Fran. Offering a relaxed traditional pub feel, not formal or a gastro, just a good simple pub. Great local beers from interesting breweries, good wines and decent tasty homemade pub grub, and l
Went for Saturday lunch with friends. The service was not rushed which is what we wanted. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent. Big portions and good value for money. There are some quirky elements which makes the place interesting. I would certainly go again. An enjoyable experience
