Decor great, food ok, but one staff - said he was the manager- spoils it. Rude from the start, slow service ( 1 hour wait for starter despite pre-ordering ), then complains when you havenât left your table within two hours. Heard him complaining about a 90 year old bloke on the next table, for taking too long to walk to his table and getting in the way. Would not go back here if they gave me £1,000 and food for free. Really is that bad.

We had the set evening meal which provided us with several choices. We both really enjoyed our meals - really tasty, portion sizes were just right and staff looked after us well without constantly interrupting us to check everything was okay. To be honest, it was a pleasant surprise at just how tasty it was. The dining room itself is really nice too.

After a great first year of trading at The Boat Inn, we are continuing our efforts to focus our attention on creating a quality lead food and beverage hub in lichfield. Inclusion in this years Michelin Guide being a great stepping stone. We are also proud
We recently went to one of the Boats special taster evening with a format of Liam challenging a visiting chef to cook alternate courses that then get marked out of 10 by the diners. Every course was exceptional especially the scallop starter that was my stand out favourite. Perhaps it would have been better not to have two chocolate based sweet courses but either way the Boat is certainly the best restaurant in the lichfield area by far. Without doubt we will book one of Liam's special taster menu evenings again. Thank you for putting on such a great event, more of the same please. !!! Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent visit to us at The Boat Inn. We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to welcoming you again soon

Our first visit and on a busy Saturday night. Table was booked for 20.30 but we didnât eat a thing until 21.45. Waitress was lovely and apologised and gave us a round of drinks on the house without us asking for anything which was very nice of her.Good things - lovely waitress, food was amazing, nice bustling atmosphere. Not so good things - Long wait, expensiveAnd whats the lettuce wedge all about ? Donât quite get that Love your review, Thank you for so honest comment and we are so sorry about wait, but Saturday night is really hard for us and we try make everyone happy. And the lettuce wedge originally came from an old America steak house back in 1950s. We've put our own twist on it, as it use to be served plain. The lettuce Wedge is a refreshing accompaniment that compliments the rich flavours of the steak.
