We thought we would try the Tapas menu as such a good tasty sounding choice. However the meatballs were black and the nacho's were very burned around the tops so much so that the waiter apologized how they were burnt but still left them for us to eat. Then the Moroccan Chicken came out and the waited commented that it had extras when I asked what he meant he answered there was a hair which he then picked off and wiped up his trousers but left that dish also. Although the food was bad and we won't be back it was a shame as the staff were very friendly and chatty but you are paying for the food.

Just ordered 2 Americans and a slice of lemon drizzle. The cake is dense but edible. The coffee though is as weak as water and non drinkable. There's nothing left to sayHi Joanne, thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear of your experience with us. Had we known that the coffee was not up to standard, we would have happily remade them for you or else given you a refund. All our coffee is supplied by local speciality coffee roasters in Lincoln and is produced from single origin beans. In this instance we are not sure why the coffee did not taste up to its normal quality, but if you are in our area again, please feel free to call in and we would be happy to give you a couple of Americano's free of charge. Many thanks.

Hungry, as usual on my work travels, came across this little gem. All day breakfast was my order and it didn't disappoint. Proper Lincolnshire sausages and bacon which was just yummy and 'proper' also.Piping hot, fresh, delicious. It was really busy and I had to sit at a low table which was a bit tricky but we managed.Clearly very popular and rightly so.Lovely staff and good value.

The Magpies Restaurant with Rooms is over two hundred years old and converted from three cottages. Owned by Caroline and Andrew Gilbert for seven years, this year they have added three deluxe ensuite bedrooms. They are members of 'Tastes of Lincolnshire'
Went for a meal last night with some friends that came up from Kent to see us. We were greeted and taken to be seated in an ante room for pre dinner drinks and amuse bouch while we perused the menu. All of the food and the service was outstanding and the wine list extensive. Our friends thought it was lovely also. It was fine dining without being pretentious. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and it is especially nice if you are having a celebration. They also have rooms so you could extend your visit and not have to drive. Brilliant!

This is a popular place ... check the opening times ... the availability ... and your wallet! It is not expensive ... good, imaginitive food is not cheap to buy, prepare, cook and serve ... and this is good quality, imaginitive food ... and it comes at a gastro-pub price.Off the beaten track, village pub atmosphere and worth the trip. We are told it is up for sale so check also for possible new owners they may have new ideas.

Ate here with my wife on the evening of Tuesday 3rd September whilst staying in Horncastle. What a great little restaurant. It only has about 30 covers and we counted 25 of them being used on a Tuesday night. It must get really busy at the weekends. The food was excellent (Crab & Spring Onion fritters with sweet chilli sauce and Goats cheese on plum bread with onion marmalade for starters, Pan seared duck breast with veg and a fruit sauce and a Mushroom & roasted garlic risotto for mains, trio of mini desserts, coffees and a bottle of pinot noir). Total £78 â very reasonable.Food was great as were the staff and the price. All in all highly recommended.Thank you for your lovely review, I'm pleased you enjoyed your meal and recommend us. We are a tardis, we can in fact seat 96. 48 in the main restaurant, 12 on the balcony and 36 in our function room. We can get busy yes, so booking is advised. We hope to see you again if you are in the area. Regards Mark

My sister told me about this lovely little coffee shop, who was told about it by a friend. I would have walked past had I not known where to look. Pleasant surroundings, very friendly and quick service and an excellent cream tea. I'l certainly visit again.
