Came here with 7 friends whilst on a bike ride. We've stopped here more than 20 times in the past 5 years, eaten lunch and had no issues. Unfortunately landlord now has a vendetta against anyone who has a bicycle. Wouldn't even let us sit and order at two unreserved tables. When asked "do you want our business?" He answered, "no not really, I don't serve P*kis". I walked out, as did 7 others. Landlord also took issue with two women hugging, which suggests nothing more than a further bigoted attitude.Amazing attitude, not worthy of £150+ business. Not a public house, and would be better off going to the Swan Inn.Perhaps I should treat this accusation with the response it deserves having been posted by someone who obviously has no substantial complaint and had to play the race card as retribution when they didn't get the result they wanted. To set the record straight your group arrived unannounced at a time when we were expecting customers who had already booked. Upon your arrival I advised you that we could not accommodate a party of your size inside the pub, you had the opportunity at this point to accept that your journey was Ill planned and that your expectations could not be met, at that point you could have continued on to the Swan. I am far from being a racist as any one of my hundreds of friends will testify and have no disrespect for cyclists. But your party will no longer be accommodated here. Good luck on your future journeys.

Below is the email that I sent to customer services, their response was not what showed no element of follow up.I visited restaurant (Horse and Jockey) in Dunstable on Monday 23rd September, having visited numerous restaurants including various Table Table locations I regret to say this is by far the worst experience that I have had.I reserved a table for 19:00 through the Premier Inn, I arrived promptly and was shown to a table and given a menu. On looking at the menu I noted that there were numerous items scribbled out in pen, I would estimate that at least 75% of the items were scribbled out, I thought this had been completed by a child. After waiting 45 minutes without any approach from a member of staff I went to the bar to enquire if I ordered there or if someone was going take my order.I returned to my table where a waitress came to take order, it was at this point I was advised that the scribbling out was to indicate items were not available, it would have been nice to have told this when being handed the menu.It then took another 40 minutes for my prawn cocktail to be brought to my table, this is very surprising given prawn cocktail is not a hard item to prepare, I advised the waitress (now I know this to be the duty Manager - Lisa) at my concern at the length of time that I had been in the restaurant to get my first course, Lisa apologised and offer a complimentary drink. After waiting another 30 minutes my Sirloin steak arrived, I then returned to the bar to get a Steak knife which was not provided. On cutting the steak it was apparent the meat was poor quality, actually just looking at it it could be seen that it was full of gristle, I tried to persevere as I was hungry, I then tried the chips only to find them to be cold. At this point I decided to raise my concerns with the Manager as clearly my whole experience with this restaurant was far from achieving even basic levels. Lisa took me to a quite area of the restaurant so I could discuss my concerns. Lisa was very pleasant and offered her apologies for my experience, she explained the issues that she had suffered with staffing issues that evening, I was offered an alternative meal which I declined having spent nearly 2 hours in the restaurant. I was advised that I could not be refunded as I had purchased a meal deal (£24.99) through Premier Inn. I have attached a copy of my Meal Deal voucher, I request that you reimburse this cost as you were unable to supply an edible meal. I never took breakfast in the morning as I felt my previous evenings experience had damaged my faith in this restaurant. My advice is avoid this restaurant.

Friendly service and good affordable food especially when visiting Monday to Saturday until 6pm as they have a saver menu. The food is always good and whenever anything is wrong they try and resolve it immediately. The open chicken sandwich is amazing and tastes so good. Itâs only £5 from the saver menu (I only wish they had it on the main dinner menu also, itâs that good). It consists of a ciabatta topped with lettuce, mayo, chicken breast, bacon and tomato served with a side of skinny fries. Iâve had this a few times now in fact itâs the only thing I have whenever going here for lunch. Iâve also recommended to family who have also tried it and are now fans. Great value and so filling. The chicken Goujons start with American cheese sauce, jalapeñoâs and relish are also really yummy but quite expensive for what it is especially orally when ur main course is cheaper. Itâs great they offer free parking as do all beef eater restaurants, you just have to enter your reg if staying longer than 3 hours. Hubby went for double gammon off the saver menu and even that was only £7.99 and he thoroughly enjoyed it and would have it again. Not many places off a daytime saver menu or if they do itâs no where near as good as the halfway house. Iâve been here for dinner also before but Iâve not enjoyed it as much as I do the lunch menu. Also sometimes the fries have been like warm but as soon as you tell them they get fresh fries cooked. They have a full bar so good selection of drinks available to enjoy with your food and they have limited seating outside which is nice during the summer months.

I ordered lamb shank but the waitress came back eventually and said that there was a possibility that it contained garlic, to which I am allergic so i ordered "Steak and Kidney Pudding" because I love suet pastry. What I got only resembled what I ordered in shape!! It was rock hard and made of goodness knows what - certainly inedible, which we pointed out to the waitress. I forgot to say that on arrival, the waitress asked us what we would like to drink and we asked if they had any New Zealand Sauvignon, she said yes but brought a Chilean Sauvignon. When we got the bill, I said that I was surprised that we had been charged for my dinner. She said of course we had been charged and that they were pleased to have had my feedback!Thank you for your review. I have spoken to the staff on duty last night regarding the issues you encountered. I have informed them of the review and will ensure that all staff are up to date with the products that we are selling. We pride ourselves on our products and services and are sorry that we did not meet your expectations.

Traditional village pub serving cask ale and home cooked pub grub.
We often passed on the way to Luton Airport, having to collect Family we checked on Trip advisor found great reviews. Can I tell you this should be a 6star review? We had the Sunday roast followed by Home cooked deserts. All you chain pub managers should visit and see how a GREAT BRITISH PUB is run. With food that is fairly priced. Can not wait to revisit.

The White Swan have fresh Specials every weekend. My Wife chose a slow cooked chicken curry with a side of curried potatoes. Served with naan bread finished in melted butter and two accompanying additions. First a small finely chopped onion salad. The other a minted yoghurty sauce. Her food arrived on a polished slate and a hot plate was presented for her to assemble her food as she desired it. I ordered Breaded Chicken goujons and loaded chips...When the curry arrived I immediately wished I had ordered the same thing. However my goujons were tasty, served with sweet chilli dip, bbq dip, cold slaw and side salad . If you want tasty home cooked food...The White Swan is the place.
