New to Derby this was recommended by locals as great gastropub only 15 mins from City Centre. Excellent value set lunch with plenty of choice but favourite was the battered hake with delicious chips. Lovely choice of complimentary breads with delicious butter. Will be back.

Hide burger bar is a cozy friendly establishment in the centre of Derby. We offer a Great selection of Amazing brunches - Burgers and the best ever Sunday lunch. Book a table now to come and see what we are all about.
Have been to Hide several times now and each time I go, the food seems to get progressively saltier! The chips are beyond being lightly seasoned; I've woken up this morning desperate for water which shows just how much salt I consumed last night (and no I'm not hungover - I only had one glass of wine!) As well as this, the service was lacklustre and the drinks expensive - £4.10 for 2/3 of a pint of lager! I'm not sure why they insist on this, but all the burgers I initially liked the look of also had some sort of hot element to them - buffalo sauce, chilli cheese, green chilli sauce. However, to be fair to the waitress, they were accommodating when I asked for no chilli sauce on my halloumi burger. Hide has got a good atmosphere, and generally the food is ok, perhaps just not to my taste. Hi. Thank you for your feedback. We will look into the seasoning of the fries and offer the option of salted or unsalted in future. Our menu offers 10 burgers that donât have any chilli/hot element to them. And 5 that have chilli elements to them. However. We are always happy to swap out any of the ingredients to suit the customer. Regarding the price of the draught beer - we have huge overheads as you can imagine for a city centre establishment and I can assure you we price this not only competitively and never to over price our product. We are an independent business and always work very hard to please everyone but we also are aware this is not always possible. If you ever chose to return I will make sure personally to greet you and take care of you to make sure your experience is a better one. Thank you.

We are a traditional village public house and restaurant with bags of character. Offering a wide and varied range of real ales and freshly prepared home cooked food. Meals can even be purchased from our very own Village Shop!!
We came across this pub when our walk was rained off. It was a typical country pub full of people chatting and enjoying themselves but it is obvious that it is also a "proper" restaurant laid for "proper" diners! However, we ate in the pub and the food could not have been any better if we had seated ourselves in the restaurant as it was excellent. They do advise that food is cooked to order and so there may be a wait but the atmosphere in the pub was lively and entertaining so was not a problem for us. This was a good find on a miserable day.

Called at Lisa Jean for lunch whilst in Derby. I had booked but you may not need to mid week as the restaurant is a reasonable size.It is situated on the first floor of Bennettâs department store, some tables have a view down onto the shop floor if you like people watching!!The lunch menu comprises sandwiches, salads, all day brunch options plus classics such as fish & chips, risotto, pasta. I chose the omelette, my partner the fish & chips. Both were cooked to order (we could actually see the dishes being prepared in the open kitchen) and beautifully presented. We shared a piece of the homemade cake of the day (chocolate marble) which was delicious, I would love to try the afternoon tea if this was anything to go by. Possibly a little pricey at £35 for two mains, a piece of cake, three coffees & a ginger beer but the standard of the food warranted it in my opinion. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommended.

We'd booked here before they had won their recent award as best Derby resturant of the year. They are really deserving of the award! The atmosphere is lovely, the resturant inviting and importantly, the food delicious. A small but we'll planned menu and every course was delicious. We'll definitely go back.
