Really taken back by the quality of food served, such a high standard, flavours just heavenly especially the desserts. This place takes some beating even though the local area is served well with many eateries. Wish I'd found it years ago, highly recommend and look forward to booking again soon.

We know that not everyone wants the same thing from a pub. You might want a pint of local real ale at the bar ... A bottle of wine and a grazing board on the sofas ... A meal in the dining room ... A really good coffee and a read of the paper ... Take you
The restaurant area is very cosy and welcoming - a bit rowdy at the bar when you're coming through to the restaurant though, even early on a Saturday evening. I was with a hen party and the staff were lovely to us though and even got a bit involved with our hen games. The wine flights were spot on too, what a fab idea. My starter of arancini balls was probably the best i've tried - however the ricotta stuffed gnudi (a bit like gnocchi) weren't great, completely overcooked, dry, tasteless and burnt round the edges and to be honest, quite expensive for what they were. I didn't want to send them back and make a big deal as we were having such a nice time, but I should have done really. Shame, as the whole experience was great, just overdone dumplings! Everyone else really enjoyed their food though and I wished I'd had the chicken or the fish instead (though trying to eat less meat at the moment).

A wood-stone oven cooks up authentic Italian style pizza and pasta. Freshly made salads, sandwiches and snacks are also on the menu. Ingredients are chosen for their quality alone and, where possible, are free-range and generally nice to our planet.
Always had a good meal here and great for the kids during the day. Nice atmosphere laid back and good service. Some good beers on tap too. Like the menu where the pizzas are all famous music artists! My tip would be the Ozzy osbourne - Calazone. Actually better than Ask Italian too!

This was the first time we had dined at this pub but had read some very good reviews. We were not disappointed the meal was delicious, well presented and the staff were excellent. Also, we thought it was very reasonably priced. We Will certainly go again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The White Horse, Whepsted.

Came for Sunday lunch with family and wasnt disappointed but also wasnt particularly impressed. Sunday is limited to roast options, I had beef which was a little overdone and not the best quality meat however we were pretty much the last people to eat. Others had pork and lamb and were similarly ambivalent, nothing wrong with anything but nothing was standout good either. Starters were decent but not exactly inspiring, desserts similar and everything was just a bit more expensive than I thought it should be. Service was friendly but rushed and a bit disjointed. Not bad by any means but not as good as Id hoped from the reviews Id read, the quest for a top notch roast continues .........!

Came for lunch today after reading the reviews. We wasn't disappointed. The sandwiches were lovely and such a huge choice. Also the cakes looked delicious. There was a big choice of tables at the front and back. So lovely and clean in there. The staff were very friendly and chatty. We will definitely be returning when back in bury.

We stumbled across this restaurant by luck driving home to London from Norfolk. What a find! It is so rare to see such attention to detail, such a charming traditional atmosphere that is a true reflection of the owners and not some bland corporate affair. The food was delicious and very well prepared. I only had a small glass of wine but the wine list looked thoughtful and reasonably priced. We would definitely return and would happily make the detour again next time we happen to be near Bury St Edmunds.
