Sometimes you just need good old traditional english grub and this place nails it.I Had the Heidi Pie (Goats Cheese, Sweet Potato & Spinach) & Pi Pa Pale Ale.Verdict: Best Pie in some time, Possibly ever. The mash and peas that accompanied it were seasoned to perfection and they serve a great range of Ales and Pies in a chilled out setting over x2 floors. Pie Minister supply the pies which are excellent as standard.Fingers crossed i'll be working away near Altrincham more often!

Ok its half term week.Popped in for a quick lunch.Order taken quickly enough.Food took a long time to come.Asked for the bill...this too took a long time to come so ended up going to the till.Explained we thought the service was very slow today.'We are very busy you know'.Really?Sorry not good enough. We have a choice of where we eat.We won't choose here againThank you for sharing some feedback. As you witnessed the whole place was full. It is half term and we get our reputation from freshly prepared homemade food that takes time to prepare when we are very busy This is stated on the menu as a polite reminder that when we are busy there will probably be a delay in food service. I apologise that the bill was late I can only imagine the member of staff was asked for something by another customer and got sidetracked. Human error which can happen to us all. I hope you do try us again but please bear in mind our location next to the National Trust park and at holiday times we do get extremely busy

On the edge of the old Manchester to Oxford Road stands The Romper, an old coaching inn welcoming patrons through our doors for over 400 years. With its charming, whitewashed, slate-tiled exterior and rampant lion roaring above the door, The Romper is a f

Food was lovely. Great portions, steak and sweet potatoes fries were delicious. We shared a humous which was delicious and enormous. What was disappointing,we ordered drinks from the waitress,we asked about Prosecco but it was £26 ,So we ordered a glass. when we came to re-order drinks we had a young lad, he said Prosecco was on offer £18. Not sure why the previous girl didnât mention this. Also the bill came and theyâd added 2 side orders of chips on when they were included in the meal. This has happened here loads of times to us, but the food and the staff are lovely but always check your bill!

Went here on Wednesday evening to claim my prize of two free pies which I had won in a competition. We were warmly greeted by the deputy manager Dave and shown to our table. The pub was very quiet with only a few tables occupied but this didn't spoil our evening. We ordered our pies and didn't have to wait long to be served. The food was served on hot plates, good and unusual in a pub or any restaurant. I had the goats cheese tart and my husband the steak pie. We both enjoyed our meals and thank you for the prize.Hi,Thank you for leaving us your lovely comments. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your prize on Wednesday.Pie Wednesday is definitely one of our most popular deals. Look out for more competions on your Facebook page.Hope to see you again soonAxe and Cleaver

Looking for something different in Hale then here it is . Healthier options and you donât have to be wearing yoga or gym wear to eat here ! Very pleasantly set out a trendy place without a wood pallet or cheesy retro reclaimed feel . Staff in uniform, the place is very clean , the offering Mediterranean with healthy options and combinations

I arrived in the town earlier than expected for a business meeting & spotted this place as an option for some impromptu breakfast.Extensive menu, with the usual favourites, but also a lot of healthier options. Opted for the low carb breakfast which was very good, with good ingredients, well cooked.

The jury may still be out on the OGS era at Old Trafford-see my earlier review-but Borage is still delivering in spades. We visited with friends and had the 5 course deal where we all had the same food. A nice, if slightly underwhelming, goats cheese opener was followed by magnificent scallops and a really hearty but interesting lamb fillet . Cheese course and sweet were of a similar standard but the real stars were the scallops. The wine here is always good and reasonably priced for the quality. The Malbec is tremendous.Still quiet, still undiscovered by many who will probably go past it as they follow the hoards to Alty but still very very good!
