Welcome to The Plough Inn, Here we offer a great service with an extensive steakhouse menu, lunch menu and an early bird option and specials board and a wide range of locally brewed real ales.
My partner and I visited this evening and were pleasantly surprised. The pub is very traditional which is rare these days. The barmaid who I think is the landlady is very friendly and down to earth. A typical Yorkshire welcome awaited us. We both ordered a steak which was cooked to perfection, presented well and was exceptionally tasty. We would definitely recommend this pub to anyone wanting a decent steak. It makes a change in this day and age to actually eat a meal before having to give a table number and pay for it first. We will definitely be going again

Traditional pub meals served Monday - Friday 12pm - 2pm, and 5pm - 8pm. Saturday- Sunday and Bank holidays 12pm - 4pm.
This pub serves top quality home cooked food at very reasonable prices. The portions are huge so we never get starters or desserts. The menu is extensive so thereâs something for everyone. The chunky chips are amazing!! The pub has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly. Canât recommend it highly enough!!

We visited here one Friday evening last month. We turned up hungry without a reservation but they fitted us in, despite being very busy, by opening up another part of the restaurant. They really went out of their way to be accommodating and were very friendly. Once seated the food was .... delicious! Traditional English and one of those menus where everything is suddenly your favourite making it very hard to choose. Also i tried some of the local ale my husband ordered and even I (a wine drinker) thought it was wonderful.I would recommend this pub and would definitely return when next in the area.HiThank you for taking the time to leave a lovely review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed both our wonderful food and real ale. See you again soon!

Enjoy freshly cooked Mediterranean food, wine, cocktails and cask ales in a beautifully extended pub and restaurant just 3 miles from Wakefield. Ego at The Bullâs Head is a must visit for its Mediterranean food, family friendly dining, al fresco dining te
Been here a few time and had a lovely meal, however on this occasion, steak night, the food was below average. The mixed grill was thrown together with a raw mushroom, the steak was very small and fatty, the lamb chop the same, the chips were undercooked, the chicken was ok. My wife had a steak and chips and was very unimpressed with the fatty steak, tasted like a rump. The mushroom was also stone cold and raw. Disappointing, so wonât ever go back. Hi there,Please could you forward your contact details to [email protected] with the date and time of your visit and the reference HOR2210 and one of our team will be in touch to discuss your feedback with you.Thank you...

Home made bread and home made desserts coupled with excellent service what more can you want! I took my elderly mum for lunch this week. We both chose 2 of the specials on the board. Roast lamb and Yorkshire Pudding for myself and Chili Con Carne with rice for my Mum. Washed down with a glass of Pinot what a perfect day...

Went to this busy pub for Sunday lunch. Fortunately got there early as a lot of tables were booked. Decent menu plus pork or beef Sunday roasts. Our pork roast and brisket mains were delicious with lots of tender meat, a good array of vegetables, altogether a filling meal. Service was good too.

A mixed review. The rump steak was fabulous.Tender and exactly medium rare as requested. This at £8.49 (Monday offer) was excellent value. Fries however were luke warm. The other main, halloumi with vegetables was strange. Taste was ok but clumsily presented; no finesse. My starter was terrible; sweet potato koftahs. Over processed frozen food. The mushroom starter was ok. Also didnât have the small 200ml bottles of Prosecco so didnât bother with the by the glass which at nearly a fiver for 125ml is expensive. Possibly should have offered 200 ml for the same price? Sadly canât give above average for the whole. A shame as itâs a lovely venue. Will be back but will give it a rest for a while. Thanks for taking the time to let us know how we did. Have a great day!

Charming rural pub offering excellent freshly cooked to order food and a fabulous range of drinks including Cask Marque Yorkshire ales and wines from award winning vineyards. Booking highly recommended as we do get busy every day. Thanks
Popped in early evening Sunday on way home from London, not been for a while but it didnât disappoint. I forgot how cosy and warm and friendly this pub is. Service very good and restaurant busy. Quite a few offers on ie one course £9.95 and Sunday lunch £9.95 but the great price didnât impact quality of food. Food fantastic as always - really enjoyed it.
