Went with friends to Island pool for a car very...restaurant does 2 hourly sittings on a Sunday...food was very good with good selection and self service buffet and puddings are tasty...not the cheapest but good quality.Pub could do with upgrading toilets as they are a bit grotty and need to sort background music as heavy rock was being played making conversation difficult.Pleasant staff and generally well organised.

A friendly village pub located on the picturesque Staffs and Worcestershire canal. Our aim is to serve good homecooked food using locally sourced ingredients. All our beef comes from the Bishop family farm located less than a mile away on Blakeshall lane.
Average pub food but, tempted by the description âfine diningâ we booked Sunday lunch in the restaurant upstairs. The menu exactly the same as the bar downstairs, with half a dozen additions. Roast was mediocre pub fare, nothing âfineâ. The service abysmal as management are too cheap to hire extra staff at weekends, so just two girls had to fetch and carry all meals from the upstairs kitchen to the restaurant, bar, diownstairs dining room and outside area. We were relatively lucky as the table next to us waited for 50 minutes before they got their meals. Twenty minute wait to ask for bill, another ten minutes for it to arrive, so gave up and paid in bar downstairs after lengthy wait in another queue. If you want basic pub food stay downstairs and be prepared for a lengthy stay. Management: put your hands in your pockets and hire more staff!

Plenty of parking, lovely outside area and lovely pub layout inside. Bit of a longer wait for food than you would usually expect but only a couple of people on the table mentioned it. I didnât have a starter but the ones that came out to our table looked great, nicely presented. Mains came and plates were nice and hot, it was just a shame the waitress decided to use the pulled down sleeve of her woolly cardigan to hold the plates with......a tea towel is the normal requirement! Most of us then had puddings which like the mains were fine. Food all in all was ok but wasnât anything to shout about.

Our Lounge is a home from home, offering delicious food and drinks, all day
I love the ambience and the cool interesting deco... it's almost like being back in Shoreditch.Just a shame the food is very average.Breakfast is decent but not great and the mac and cheese seemed to have been microwaved and was dripping in grease. That being said... I will go back to try other items off the menu... it's probably best for coffees and beers rather than a meal out.Hi there S-Alboreto, Thank you so much for the review, we are so sorry your visit wasn't as brilliant as it could have been.We hope this experience doesn't stop you from coming back and giving us another go ! hopefully it will be 10/10!Many thanks, Team Tappeto

A friendly, family run 18th Century Country Pub serving quality traditional ales and home cooked quality food. Family friendly with patio, beer garden and children's play area set in the historical village of Blakedown, Kiddermister.
Prawns in the curry were not king prawns..The risotto was bland and lumpy. The steak was not tender, it was quite tough for a couple of our party. The staff were friendly enough, however, one of the waitresses when a member of our party said i ordered a side she said, no you didnt..even though we all heard her order the side the waitress repeated no you didnt...then said i can get you some, she tried to call her out..this is not good service. Plus side it was nice and quiet not rowdy. I dont think i would go here again.

Please don't expect anything posh here, you are visiting a true local pub that serves great beer, Enville Ale, cracking cobs(although they seem smaller?) along with a mountain of salad. We had 5 cobs with all trimmings and two drinks, just over £13!! Yes they don't take cards so be warned, no need for a recent 1 star review just for that reason. I would suggest no dogs inside for hygiene reasons. We return on a monthly basis.

Small back street community pub that serves homemade locally sourced food from 12-6 Colin and Trudy and their team will always give you a warm welcome, serving up to 5 camra winning ales
Our first visit today - Sunday lunch for our granddaughter's birthday. Our son and daughter-in-law had been here a few times, and been impressed. So we're we!It's a bit Tardis-like, the off the pavement entrance into a cosy bar leading through to a bright conservatroy-type area and a back room, then on again to a seated garden area. The food is the best in superb home cooking, very different from the all-to-common, out of a packet, microwaved stuff. And very reasonably priced, too.Oh, and the staff are great - very friendly, welcoming and efficient.Just one small thing mind... The owner is a Wolves supporter, and, as a Baggie of longstanding..... Do you know though, it really doesn't matter, we will definitely be back!Even as an Albion fan you will be more than welcome to return lol. Thank you for your kind review it means a lot
