Destination pub with delicious home cooked food large children's play area Traditional cooked Sunday roasts Children's electric jeeps driving experience Venue hire for all occasions Lovely duck pond in garden
Have not visited the Dog and Duck since moving out of the area almost six years ago. At that time it was a bit of a dismal pub with mediocre food. The new owner took over 4 years ago and what a transformation. The restaurant area is bright, spotlessly clean and has taken on a bistro look. The food was extremely good, looked appetising on the plate and above all was hot. Portion sizes were large, in fact both of us could not finish our dinners, good job we didnât order a starter! The service was friendly and attentive. We will certainly return, I think this will now become our new meeting place for our catch ups.

Ate here early evening, food was good, service was really poor. Told short staffed but that should not be an excuse in a pub/restaurant of this size that had barely 10 customers. Also one starter served with main courses when we had said to leave it after waiting some 20 minute for it. Nobody seemed that bothered, maybe it's normal. But will repeat food was good. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review - we are sorry that the service wasn't what it should be I will pass your feedback on to the team working that evening and we hope you will give us another opportunity to wow you with our service.

We often eat here before flying as there is little choice before security at North Terminal. Usually find the food average and the staff pleasant but this time it was a different experience. The staff were ill-informed and unhelpful. All we wanted to do was swap the side of peas that came with the pie for any other side or a small amount of salad as one of our party can't eat peas. The staff members had a meeting, then called the manager over, who then went to speak to the chef, who then decided we could either have a mushroom (these were getting a hard sell from staff as they had a lot to get rid of due to phasing out all their mushroom dishes from the menu!) or ONE slice of tomato instead of the peas! All rather embarrassing! We eventually got our pies which were completely over-cooked with inedible, rock-hard, black pastry and dried up innards. The chips were limp and the peas came in a tiny dish the size of a ten pence piece. The burger was nothing like the picture being advertised and was lacking flavour. The coleslaw on the side was literally a teaspoon sized amount and the burgers were tiny and dried up. When a waiter asked us how our meal was (as he ran past our table) he just shrugged when we complained. All in all, a very disappointing experience and didn't get our holiday off to a good start!

The Parsons Pig, now under new management has undergone several improvements. New widescreen HD Tv's showing BT and SKY sports. New Food me nu incorporating Grills and Indian curries and British favorites like Cod n Chips, Sausage n Mash, Minted Lamb Shan
I can't stop raving about this place. It's always brimming with atmosphere and serves good food, catering to the Indian and European palette. The Parson's Pig is nearly always busy, which is a recommendation in itself. Be sure to make a telephone reservation especially if you intend to visit over the weekend. The manager, who is recognisable by his iconic trade mark trouser braces is clearly on top of his game and runs a tight ship with his waiting staff, so the service is exemplary. Cutlery, crockery and glassware are sparkling clean and this attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed. This is a restaurant with high standards. I have no hesitation in recommending it and will continue to visit on a regular basis.Dear Jeff, Thank you for taking the time to write a review with your much-valued comments. We are really delighted to know you enjoyed your meal and it was a pleasure serving you. Positive feedback is motivating for our staff and improves their commitment to their roles in our industry. Our Restaurant Extension is also complete. We can now accommodate Private Functions of up to 60 persons. Several other improvements are due soon. Our much-awaited new menu has also been introduced with some innovative dishes. There is also a Monthly Indian Special of an Appetiser and a Main Course which is proving very popular due to their ethnic preparations and taste.Being ranked No.1 in British and Indian Dining in Crawley, we have a vision to be a premier dining destination in future. We thank you for your custom at The Parsons Pig and hope to see you again soon.Kind Regards

If youâve got time to spare before flying from Gatwick, sit down to a delicious meal at Thyme. Once fully fuelled, you could check out Crawley town centre or enjoy some quiet time in the tranquil Riverside Garden Park, which is right on your doorstep.
We have ate at the Thyme on numerous occasions over the years when staying at the Premier Inn, we have old had one poor meal back in August 2018. We have also previously purchased the dinner and breakfast option with our room which is good value. We were here again in May 2019 and ate dinner. Good selection on the menu, we ate later in the evening, which was our preference and as it can be quite busy with families in the early evening. Although we always love the holiday atmosphere at the Premier In n We were quickly seated and served promptly with drinks before our meal which came out in good time. Service was polite and we were happy with our meals and the price we paid.

Decided to pop in for dinner this week, wow, what a gem. The decor was amazing, right up my street. Staff were friendly, attentive, welcoming atmosphere. We had the 14oz pork chop and posh scampi, absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. They also have live music too on selected nights. Looking forward to returning, puts a lot of other eateries to shame. 5* experience- thank you so much. Suzzi & Dave x

Situated on Norwood Hill crossroads approx 3 miles from Horley town centre and a short taxi ride from Gatwick, The Fox Revived is a little haven of beauty, the perfect hideaway in the heart of rural Surrey. With its lofty position, the pub and its gardens
We were staying at Gatwick airport overnight for a very early morning flight next day and wanted to find somewhere interesting and better value for dinner rather than face the overpriced offerings at the hotel. TA reviews pointed us towards the Fox Revived, only a short drive away through the country and it was a great find. The staff were super friendly, the menu had a great selection of dishes, the choice of ales was good and the interior decor very pleasant indeed, let alone the building itself which is in a lovely location. We'll most definitely visit again when flying from Gatwick.

A proper country village pub, serving real ales, lagers, ciders, a good choice of wines and just as important, good pub grub!
Enjoyed a fantastic dinner at The Half Moon. We had rib-eye steak and liver and bacon. Both dishes were absolutely perfect. The liver was so tender, like eating moose. (Not the animal!) Both had real home made chips and great vegetables. Dessert was apple and toffee crumble, amazing. Thanks chef, you are a champion. Servers were lovely as well.
