I have lived in this town my whole life and have always been too the Bear Inn as my local,Have always taken my 'non Faversham' visitors to the pub as it is not only steeped in history but also a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat, The menu is 'Pub Grub'and Delicious, I have tried lots of things on the menu, but have to say the Ham and Cheese Savoury Pancakes and devine,And the Homemade Pies are made to perfection, As a non beer drinker I appreciate the nice selection of Gin on offer but have been informed by people I have visited with that the Beer is exceptional and clearly well cared for.Now all of this is great in any pub, but what makes the Bear that mile above any other pub.. The amazing warm and friendly atmosphere where you see people of all ages chatting and drinking together, the culture the Landlord and Landlady have created in this pub is one of community and that everyone is welcomed and treated as if they were regulars of the pub even if its their first visit and this is passed through to the excellent team of staff who work there, All of which have a positive and enthusiastic air about them. Each member of staff have a good knowledge of the background history to the pub and happily share with those who ask.Personally I think it is a must visit if coming to charming Faversham..Booking a table is also possible so suggested as pub can be busy for food service.. You will not be disappointed A absolute Gem of a Pub.

The Alma has an excellent chef, our food was very good - crisp large prawns with a lovely little salad and dip - Roast pork tender, would have likes a little more gravy and crackling but it was all very tasty with well cooked veg. The gypsy tart was amazing - just a minor point that didnât feel very welcome on arrival & felt rather uncomfortable, the pub was busy and I am sure it was an oversight ! anovoveranaoversightovoversight Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your food. We don't like to put too much gravy on our Sunday roasts as everybody has different tastes and not everyone likes lots of gravy. However, there is always plenty of gravy available. If you visit us again, please ask, we are very happy to give extra gravy and a number of customers do ask. We also apologise that you didn't feel particularly welcomed when you arrived. We pride ourselves in our friendliness and warm welcome and are sorry that you felt you didn't receive it. Hopefully we can redemm ourselves.

We arrived here by chance, as we had booked a meal and theatre tickets in Canterbury, but we had car trouble and had to terminate our journey and wait for the RAC. We parked up and went for a meal and a drink, whilst we waited. This is obviously a popular place with locals and the staff are very friendly. We had great food, in a great atmosphere, and it was very cosy in the pub.We will call here again when we are in the area, it was a bit of a find. Thanks very much for your lovely review I remember you well and I hope you got your car sorted out and back on the road so you can come again

The Anchor Inn is a beautiful 300 year old pub, just a few minutes walk from Faversham town centre at the terminus of Abbey Street, one of the finest preserved medieval streets in England, and very close to the historic Faversham creek. Some of the beams
Popped in for a bite to eat and a beer after going around the nearby shops by the quayside wharf. Nice traditional looking pub inside and out and fairly comfortable.Beer excellent. Food... Me: fish & chips... Wife: sausage & mash. Good quality pub grub with excellent and friendly service. Good value too.Nicely situated, only 6 or 7 minute walk if you've got tired legs after doing the shopping in town. Would definitely keep in mind if I'm in Faversham again...

Really delicious meal, lovely fresh guacamole with nachos and cheesy garlic bread, tasty and crisp . The chilli pot was amazing, deep and rich and full of flavour with lovely accompaniments. The chicken Veracruz was really good too - had an excellent Margarita and good service with nice staff. We will be back - thank you :0

We visited this midweek when it was fairly quiet. Friendly service and atmosphere. I had the chicken supreme with a delicious vegetable broth and succulent vegetables, bean, peas etc. It was particularly delicious and healthy. We would go again if we were in the area.

A traditional warm and friendly rustic pub in the heart of the Kent countryside that oozes in character with its exposed wood beams, hanging hops, log burner & inglenook fireplace. The George, as it is affectionately known, started life as a farm building
Had dinner here whilst staying at Hempstead house(see separate review) It's a lovely old pub/log fire /lovely gentle background music(Bobby vinton/everly brothers /dionne Warwick you get tge picture) We started, with warm bread olives and dip The bread was fresh from oven and olives proper ones (kalamarta probably) partner had squid and, whitebait. I had the mussels in ale both very nice. Main course was stuffed chix breast and lamb and mint suet pudding with mash and veg. All cooked perfectly and the accompanying gravy was properly reduced and flavoured no bisto here!! Finished with spotted dick and custard. The waitress was extremely friendly and competent I thoroughly recommend here for a high quality reasonably priced dinner in lovely surroundings. And will be back for sure

What a great find, The Red Lion on the Ashford Road in Badlesmere advertises that their kitchen is totally gluten free. What a joy to think that you can eat anything from their menu without having to worry. We had the tempura vegetables with sweet and sour sauce and the Lion burger, both were excellent, followed by the homemade ginger cheesecake. The hosts were wonderful, the service was great and the pub is dog friendly. They have a fantastic outdoor eating area and a play area for the little ones in the garden. If you are travelling from Faversham along the A251 Ashford Road, stop at The Red Lion in Badlesmere, we will certainly visit again.

Wish it was the first night as would be returning to the Plough. Tucked away up winding roads then the green opens up before you with the Plough proudly at the head. Friendly welcome from team and locals alike. A pub where you can get a drink or have food, not like a lot these days where you are expected to eat but we chose to eat and food excellent. Very good atmosphere full of chatter and laughter. All beers/ ciders and fruit juices were from Kent, a true Kentish pub Thank you for posting your review, we are delighted to hear you have discovered us and enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to see you again next time you are in the area. Marianne & Richard

Small country pub with two inglenook fireplaces, outside dining patio, and free wifi.
Great atmosphere, good food, good service made for an enjoyable evening. We had dinner inside, where it was a bit warm, but moved outside for dessert. Try the outside terrace on a summer evening. We are very glad you enjoyed your experience with us and hope you return.
